Will you buy it?
The Arges Adventure is actually the first one and The Ilvard Insurrection is the sequel. Lord only knows why they decided to go ass backwards, but at least they are no longer JP exclusives :D.
As for the poll, yes I will but not for a long time. I still have Berseria, Nier and I am Setsuna that I want to go through first, and with FF15/Ni No Kuni coming out soon, idk what to do :/. I've been eyeing .hack since it launched on Steam, but I know I won't get around to playing it before it hits bundle status at my current rate ;-;.
I was excited for LOST SPHEAR but it appears that one was a dud :/.

Thanks for the reply. The reason for me to buy it is because The Arges Adventure is the first one as you correctly said and the regional price on Steam makes it $7.37 for us. And also because I've finished most JRPGS that I was playing, just very close to beating Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force and some endings of Nier.
finally getting an English release more than sixteen years after its Japanese debut in 2001. It's important to keep in mind that this game is, well, old.
This and very simple combat is another reason why I'm still holding back though...

I couldn't find the game in Community Wishlist page either. Well I'm sure they will update it

Personally, so long as the game has either good combat or story, I'm happy. I just need something that will keep me engage throughout the game :p.
Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force
Another game that I need to get around to playing -.-. I'm starting to think I need to win the lotto so I can spend the rest of my days catching up on my backlog XD.

Tbh my backlog is long too but none of them are jrpgs. Its my favorite genre and first one in my priority list but also makes other games sit for a long time in the backlog because jrpgs take a long time to finish :3

I'm ys fan and the price is quite low too with regional pricing ^^ yeah, so I'll get it blindly

Oh, it looks pretty cute! I'll put it on my wishlist and buy it in a year or so at some sort of discount. I didn't know the one that was on Steam first was the sequel - I'll have to edit my wishlist spreadsheet to reflect that.
Thanks for calling my attention to this - I skipped over it in my queue but your thread made me look at it again.

You're welcome. I had it on my wishlist way before it was released so steam caught my attention when it sent me an email that Zwei: The Arges Adventure has released lol

I'll buy it eventually, like I do with all Falcom games once the price is right.

I admit they're one of the best when it comes to jrpg games :)

I only wanted to know info about the game and if I make a discussion thread without a giveaway I know someone will definitely blacklist me xD

Bump!
I play a lot of RPGs and say why not try it out right? You can never really go wrong when it will most likely have a good story plus the art is cute and you said you liked Nihon Falcom so..

Still haven't made a decision because there are still other options available like sequels of Legend of Heroes, Ys series, and now this, not to mention the backlog. I try to play the game immediately after buying that's why still I'll buy it whenever I'm done with other games. But this is definitely my top priority wishlist game.

Oh true I didn't think about the other ones, that does make it a bit difficult. :/

Well you have to know few things. I have played both of Zwei games. Think of Arges Adventure like Ys I & II, while Ilvard Insurrection is more like Ys Seven -- II is more modern and has more story to it, while AA is more old-school and hardcore. AA's strong points are its vast quantity of hidden things, minigames, and other distractions, as well as its extremely well-developed NPCs and general tongue-in-cheek humor, while II's strong points are its extremely varied weapons and magic, likable protagonists, and generally interesting storyline. Also you don't have to finish AA to start II, there is no connection between them in the main story. AA is also much, much harder than II. The fighting system is modified bump system from Ys I & II (you literally bump enemies to death). Also there is no high resolution, only false wide screen. It's ported 1:1 with minor changes so it still feels like 2001 game.

This was the kind of info I wanted, someone who has actually played both of the games. I'm new to both Ys and Zwei series and like I said in the thread that I've only played Legend of Heroes from Nihon Falcom so wanted to try Zwei series. But since you compared it to Ys then I wouldn't understand. What I did understand was the strong and weak points of AA you just told me. If I were to ask you if you liked AA or II more which one you pick? Because maybe I would just play one of these games and move on to another series.

Well to be honest I liked II more. Yes, It is the easiest of the Falcon games but characters and story was much more interesting and better shown than in AA. AA has much less hints where to go and what to do, which is also fun in it's way but if you never played older Falcon action games you might bump into generations wall. I would say II is safe choice, if you'll like it and have a drive to try something much harder then pick AA. The other thing is II is shorter than AA. II is 20+h, AA is 30+h

Thanks a lot for the honest opinion. I'm also more inclined to pick up II now because the story and characters are important to me, not to mention a better combat system and its newer compared to AA, I'm not used to play very old games. The difficulty factor does not bother me too much, as long as its interesting. Example is Tales of Berseria, very easy compared to older Tales game but the story and characters made me go on a long way and end it.

You're welcome. I'm new to both Ys and Zwei but Legends of Heroes has made me look into both of them with great attention myself.

Hi jrpg fans,
So Zwei: The Arges Adventure has released today. I never played any Zwei game before but enjoyed Legends of Heroes: Trails in the Sky a lot because its also made by Nihon Falcom which I'm a fan of. If someone has played Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection, then I need suggestions to buy it or not and also if playing the The Ilvard Insurrection is necessary before I start playing The Arges Adventure.
Thanks and Obligatory GA
