My old Samsung SSD 840 EVO 250 GB, have problem, it become very slow (to the point that you think it can't read some data written).

I upgraded to Samsung 850 Pro 256 GB (Brand New), I think less than a month,
just today I have problem reading a file (same as 840 EVO), until I restarted the PC.

How about your experience with Samsung SSD?

Solved Thanks to Tzaar : The problem is SATA cable, I changed it then it works, the speed back to normal.

Samsung Magician still error though, I'm using Windows 10 and Samsung Magician 4.7

You do not had it full do you,you should only have SSD about 75% full as anything past that and they tend to really slow down.
Can you try it in another pc maybe you have a bad cable.Have you had any power outages or sudden shut downs as those can give ssd issues and cause corruption.

You might have to run a check on the disk as there could be some corruption

Also make sure you do these things as it will help your drive last a lot longer ..

Also it could just be a bad cable or it could be a port, see if you can test it on another pc,again if you live in area with power issues you might want to get a UPS ..as power failures can really raise hell with an SSD.

How old? SSDs don't have a very long lifespan.

I'm using 840 EVO on my MacBook since more than a year, always keeping it updated with latest firmware, and it's still working great.
Now I'm also using an 850 EVO on my Win10 PC and it's perfect here too. :)

840 EVO BTW had a bug were the speed will be decreasing over time if you don't update the fw. ;)

I'm using SSD 840 EVO 120GB from over a year and I have NEVER encoutered any problems with it. It's flawless.

Also I don't know what is Samsung Magician, I never used it :P

EDIT: I mean really, this thread made me courious. The only think I did with my SSD was pluging it, installing Windows 7 64 and that's all. I never had anything like Samsung Magician on my PC and I don't bother myslef with their software or firmware upgrades :P
