Question about HL2 EP2

Hey. I have had Half Life 2: Episode 2 for quite a while now and used it to run Garry's Mod with all the cool stuff. I was wondering if this is what caused Half Life 2 to take literally seconds to install on my computer... It downloaded about 2kb!

The game is moved from a shared location between all source games to the standard installation path where all games are stored.

Garry's Mod, like the name indicates, is a mod for half life 2. so of course they have the same files. but usually u have to download patches and updates extra

Half Life, Half Life 2, Hl2: ep1, Hl2: ep2 -- I'm pretty sure the other games are spin-offs but still cool.

half life, half life 2, half life 2: episode 1, half life 2: episode 2
the story continous in all gmaes (or prequel) but u can play all without playing another and still have a good story
