It's written by Terry Jones of Monty Python fame and based on a short anecdote from one of Douglass adaams hitchhikers guide to the galaxy books. The quality wasn't nearly on par with the hitchhikers trilogy, but if you're a fan it's worth the read.

i've not read the book (i think, or at least it was so long ago that i don't remember it), but i recall some parts of the game being so monty python non-sequitor as to be really hard (ie strange random commands to the bots). maybe it's make more sense after reading the boook...

Wow... I have the box of that one around somewhere.
I could not get through the lexical puzzles that this game required. I remember reading a walkthrough once I got very frustrated with it and was like "wtf?!" at how the puzzle was supposed to be solved. Then again, I also got to mention the sucking and blowing machine to a female friend of mind, since it was part of a puzzle while I was talking to her on the phone.

(If you come at the game as a half text adventure with an emphasis on attempts at conversational AI, the puzzle-solving bits will probably make slightly more sense.)
