Just a friendly PSA: The Bitcoin Bundle has announced that they are extending their current bundle for five more days due to the way Coinbase has been working. Their full announcement about the extension is here, but basically, if you want the bundle, you should buy it now. If you don't already have any Bitcoins, it may take a few days to receive your first Bitcoins, so you'll want to get on top of that now (clicky for more info on how to get Bitcoins).

The Bitcoin Bundle costs a minimum of 0.01 BTC, which is currently equal to about $1.30 (currency converter here). The games included are:

  • Eufloria HD Beta
  • Eufloria
  • And Yet It Moves
  • World of Goo
  • Spirits

And yes, they come with Steam keys (except Eufloria HD Beta, since it isn't on Steam).

Why does it have to be in a currency that is very difficult to obtain?

Yeah, I'm actually interested in the games, but really have no way to obtain bitcoins. I'd be happy to buy a game or send some paypal to someone who has 0.01 bitcoins and could buy it for me though.

And they seem to require purchasing some sort of membership to do so. No thanks.

Because they think they're so cool.

Also, NOBODY CLICK THE EXPLANATION LINKS. This is for you own good. That orange that fills the screen is godawful.

Depends who you are. I keep a small but decent balance in Bitcoin, and I prefer it.

The bundle was explicitly designed not to promote the games or the EFF, but to promote Bitcoins as a currency. They're trying to encourage people to start using Bitcoins.

I dont think they're doing such a good job with that

With the hyperinflation of their value and the ease that they were originally obtained, I don't see the bitcoin being viable. It's more like trading stock at this point than a currency. Mining is only viable for those with dedicated/very high end computers.
