Question about restricted accounts

Heyo
My gf's account got "restricted" from one day to an other without notice. By restricting I mean she lost her Steam Account levels, therefore can't do almost anything.
Is it the limited account thing that just came out recently, or a bug?
She didn't spend 5 dollars on Steam, but still... she had more than 10 levels and 200+ games
I thought this new rule only applies to newly created accounts

So far I know it works for all accounts not just new ones. It was implemented to stop bot accounts. Would not be very effective to let the existing ones still run free...

I see. Then it might be our case.
On the other hand, who would be a bot at level 10+ with 200+ games and a lot of gametime? :D

i think maybe there was a timeframe for this. As for me, I just recently spent money on the store and my account was 5 years old already but didn't get restricted when the update was live.

Rule has been in for a few months and applys to ALL accounts. Doesn't matter if she has 1000+ Steam Games and is level 100. If she hasn't spent $5 on Steam she gets put into restricted.

But she gets all her xp and levels back after spending, right?
