Cards/Keys/REF exchange rate?

Sorry, I am new to the trading scene. I was wondering what the rates are for things in general. Keys are pretty understandable exchange rates but how does it work when cards/gems/capsul keys figure in to everything?

A sack of gems is 70cents, which is 1/4 a key.

Your trades are your business, but how can a sack of gems be 1/2 key when it's 1/4 of the price??

15-17 ref =1 key
4000 gems =1 key
45-60 cards ~1 key

Watch approximately the prices on the steam market. There is backpack.tf for tf2 items value too.
1 TF2 key = about 3500-4000 gems
