Actually, GTA is IMHO playable with KB&M, never ever liked autoaim on pads...
Now, Remember Me was kinda mandatory to use pad; with KB it just lagged like hell, bugged controlers..
Dark Souls was good on gamepad, tried both KB and pad, used 360 emu on my usb generic pad.
As for Bastion, well, the makers said themselves and I quote:
"[...] Due to Bastion’s focus on fast, responsive action, it was very important to us to provide PC controls that let players move and fight quickly and easily. We do offer gamepad support but we weren’t about to sacrifice the quality of the experience for those players who don’t have gamepads.[...]"

Didn't tried any of these on console version (psst dont have a console), but GTA 4 was all-round "horrible" haha
Anyways, the advantage on PC is that if control wasn't good you can always tweak it (handling file) and also further improve with MODS. Getting on topic now: Just remembered Saint's Row The Third, bikes! man it was an ordeal those first tryouts, at least on KB couldn't handle it on the corners! Never got to fix it so...
Something similar hapened on Sleeping Dogs, but once confortable it was easy to control bikes properly.

My list wasn't strictly games that were superior on a controller, they're just games that can be played with a controller if you feel like kicking back. xP
I always have a mixed opinion about open world games like GTA, Sleeping Dogs, and Saints Row when it comes to KB&M vs. Controller. It mostly comes down to whether I can drive with KB&M or not, and in Sleeping Dog's case there aren't many guns so it's one of my favorites when I wanna just sit on the couch. lol
Anyway, thank you for sharing your opinion. :)

I've really been taking advantage of Steam's "Big Picture" mode since I moved (this might have to do with the fact that my gaming PC and largest TV are in different rooms or maybe because I like to game at odd hours when, my now live-in girlfriend, likes to sleep down the hall from where the PCs are located) but the reason is moot =p.
In terms of games, I checked out your profile and filtered the games that we both had so I could make personal recommendations. If you are using a wired-X360 controller (my controller of choice for when I need one and am at my computer, however for Big Picture mode I'm using a long-range Bluetooth adapter/MotionJoy [so I can use an extra PS3 controller as an Xbox controller] and an HDMI-over-ethernet connection from my PC to TV which was fairly cheap for the transmitter/receiver pair). I'm not sure what games you are sick of yet, however out of the ones you have, the following I consider much better via controller (in no particular order and of course this is just my personal preference/opinion).
Pretty much a good rule of thumb is, if the game advertises "Full Controller Support", you will likely have a good time with a controller. Even some games that say "Partial" are awesome (for example I just finished a single-player run through of SRTT today and it's listed as "Partial Controller Support", which I think is just due to the fact that you have to pick which version of DirectX you want to use when you boot it up as everything in-game is perfect), with that being said SRTT could arguably be said to be played more accurately with mouse/kb (although there is rarely a need for "precision" in SR titles =p). Some games (TF2 for example) I wouldn't dream of ever playing without a kb/mouse, which is why it hasn't been getting as much of my love lately.
Also I didn't see a lot of titles like this in your collection, but driving and SHUMPs are always auto-controller picks for me. As for Audiosurf, which has been brought up a few times, when you get into the different ships and need twitch-reflect timing, a kb/mouse setup is a must.

Definitely going to replay Bastion and Psychonauts with the controller someday. I too am planning on connecting my PC to a TV in future. I already have the Ultra DLC for Beat Hazard, thanks for asking.
Alan Wake might be a tricky one though, since it is FPS.

I'll also recommend a pad for Bastion. Way more confortable with one than with a M+KB.
I had no trouble with Psychonauts with M+KB though. I might need to try for longer with a pad to be certain.

Wait, that was on a console?
Well, scratch that. Everything but Half Life.

So you'd play a strategy game like XCOM with controller over KB&M?
Comment has been collapsed.
Why not? There's certain games that would be annoying to play on the controller, sure, but almost every game that's on a console in the first place functions at an average level, at best.
Comment has been collapsed.
How about FPS? You don't get nearly the control you do with KB&M.
Comment has been collapsed.
I get sufficient control to play it decently. E.g. CoD, Battlefield, etc. Both games I've stated are great with a controller, since you're using mainly two buttons. L1 / R1 (I don't know what this is for Xbox), Left analog and right analog stick ( Along with the R3, for knifing ). The way the PS3 controller is set up makes it perfect for CoD. Not much more to really say.
EDIT: Not just CoD, but almost every other FPS game, too.

You can be more accurate with a mouse than an analog stick. Fact.
Comment has been collapsed.
Wrong. It's a preference, not a fact.
I find using a mouse to be very roughly and slow to use.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, it is a fact. It's impossible to be be as accurate with an analog stick as with a good mouse.

I'm more accurate with an analog stick in video games than with a mouse.

Just because you suck with mouse, does not make the mouse it self worse than gamepad.
Comment has been collapsed.
I never said that I suck with the mouse, and I never said that the mouse itself is worse than the gamepad.
Maybe you should get glasses.

... if you want a fighting game that's only guaranteed to work in single player mode. If you don't care, go for it. I got it too /shrug

Super. Meat. Boy.
To the point that the game itself frequently says that controllers are better than the keyboard. And based on how much my fingers hurt after playing SMB with a keyboard, they have a point.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nope. Finished light worlds on keyboard(except that pink world) and some dark worlds.
Comment has been collapsed.
Though I consider myself a gamepad person, somehow I can't play SMB with controller and enjoy it. I have to either switch from analog stick to d-pad (that cross-thing on X-Cox controller) or get back to keyboard in order to improve controls responsiveness. I believe if I want to exercise my d-pad, I'd better run A Valley Without Wind 1.

Because they have full support means they are played better with them? Like for example all the FPS games on the list?
This logic does not compute.

I found assassin's creed better with a controller
Comment has been collapsed.
Pretty much any game with controller support that isn't an FPS, RTS or 2D. I find most 2D games are just as enjoyable with a keyboard.

+1, might be because I have never really owned any modern consoles, so I'm very used to playing with KB+M. Also, probably because I don't play many sports / racing / fighting games, which might be easier with a controller.
I see a lot of people complaining about GTA IV on the PC, I don't see any problem with the controls on PC, driving a car is pretty easy too. Corners are hard at first but when you get used to how the car works it's not all that bad. Now bikes are near impossible to drive though, but that's just cause I crash a lot, so it would probably be the same for me on a console as well.

That's some backwards thinking there.
Dark Souls is an amazing game that had the unfortunate luck of being released for consoles only. It is nigh unplayable without a controller.
Rouge Legacy is an example of a game that is amazing, but better with a controller than a KB

Non-arcade racing games are impossible to play on a keyboard.
Comment has been collapsed.
Aaaaaaand you're objectively wrong. Just because you don't like something it doesn't make it "not worth playing". I enjoy racing games leaning to the simulator side and they're pretty much uncontrollable with digital steering. You need the fine control of a stick or a wheel to not go into uncontrollable drift on every high speed turn.
Comment has been collapsed.
You're either trolling or very stupid. If you try to control a car with digital binary controls IRL you'll end up in a ditch in no time. Ask anybody who has a driving license if it's a wise idea to steer your car in short controlled bursts as opposed to gentle gradual turning. You'll lose traction of your rear wheels if it's FWD after 2-3 bursts, it's called fishtailing.
Comment has been collapsed.
You're either trolling or are really taking this discussion overly seriously. As it is, I haven't tried driving my car with a keyboard, never even considered it for that matter... That being said it's pretty irrelevant because I have yet to see a driving simulator that is anything like driving a real car. If they were actually realistic they might be worth playing...

Fighting games (Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter) and some platformers designed with controller in mind.

Sleeping Dogs... (imo) horribly unplayable with K+M... example: they bound the D-pad inputs on the controller to the arrow keys, which makes using the cellphone, holstering weapons etc. very inconvenient - also since there's alot of martial arts in there, really you wanna go with the ABXY buttons on a controller rather than F, MB1 and MB2... Also I never understood how you can use [Space] as the running key simply because A button = [Space]
Other games obviously the Batman games, I never played it with K+M so I couldn't compare, but I think it's easily the way to go esp. for the combat...

Dark Souls
Rouge Legacy
Amazing games that require a controller for optimal enjoyment.

I've been mostly a keyboard & mouse person until today. Which games do you guys recommend I play with a controller?
I'm probably going to try They Bleed Pixels and Sonic Generations again, because I had quite a bad experience with them using K&M.
Edit: Thanks for all the great suggestions!
