Are you using a diferent skin ? You should update it...
You can also go to the taskbar and rightclick for settings.

Before (in the beta and the beginning of the realease of big picture), the button was really big, I would always tap it. I like that they made it smaller and easier, so far for months i've never accidentally hit the button.

This didn't work for you at all. Big Picture is part of the standard client and not tied to the beta branch.

Since the OP is using a Skin and the BPM-Button moved maybe the skin is not working with the beta client and opt out the beta might work

so every time I go to steam>setting, I have 90% chance of hitting Big picture mode.
I googled how to disable big picture, and most comments aren't helpful at all.
I spent about 30 second making sure I don't hit the Big picture button, but sometimes, I still do.
How do I remove it??!
