Hey there,

So I think further down the line (still haven't landed a new job </3) I want to have a giveaway for a physical copy of Blur because it is such a fantastic Mario Kart-esque racing gane with real cars but I do not have any idea how I should go about doing so. Should I post a discussion linking to a puzzle or something? Make a post in a Steam Group? It of course would be mailed out. So yeah, just looking for ideas to consider for later, or if it should/shouldn't be done. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Well, it wouldn't be the first time someone sent something via mail, but of course you'd have to have people that agree to give out their real address in case they win. So, y'know, doing it on the forum and using random.org or something to determine the winner is a viable option.

Thank you much! I will also likely send winner a tracking number to. Never hurts to have insurance ^_^

also keep in mind that shipping might be more expensive than the game you are giving away if u are really unlucky xD

Yeah I am thinking if I want to keep it locked to a region. I likely will not as at most the shipping is like $20ish dollars and matches the game price. I will look it up though. I appreciate this comment as it reminded me to look at rates haha. Thanks!

I know xarabas have done this several times - sending winner beside random game from his wishlist a real life postcard, SG mug and SG TShirt - he simply made a forum topic, then used random org to pick a random winner form ones meeting criteria :> Also you can consider doing a stream so people don't think you're faking the results (one of my groups idea is that there are no real mandatory GAs, aka GA every month, instead every 2 weeks random people (1/3 of the group size) are picked during stream and only them have to make GAs) - heck, you could turn a stream into a big SG event with other users dropping GA links and keys during the stream ;)

I like the sound of that, but have no idea where even to begin with the streams as I have never done one ._.
Does sound super fantastic though so I will keep it in mind. Thanks for the help!

you have some time to test things out - simply start streaming some games and learn how it's done ;)

Ok, it will be embarassing >_<
Is there a way to make the streams private so no one sees me being all "what does thi- oh darn I didn't mean to end the stream" and such?
People prefer Twitch or YouTube or either or?
Thanks again!

worry not - you're most likely not going to get any views unless youre either popular or streaming popular game ;p Depends on people I guess - I prefer Twitch, but only because it's been around much longer and I'm used to it :>

I would say people prefer twitch xD
and its really not that hard to start streaming...hard thing is to get an audience.
I tried it once because I wanted to play quiplash with a few friends in TS.
