you can just go and buy hotline miami.
It will not appear as a bonus, I can 100% guarantee it.

New and sucessful game that still sells a lot. If it was to be on Humble Bundle, it would be in the bundle from day one, as a BTA.

So, you do not really want this game. You wanted to get it for free.
Nice.

Hmm, you replied to this topic saying "yes, especially hotline miami"
The question that the topic makes is:"Is anyone else holding back on indie games until HIB7 bonus games are revealed?"
So it means you want to buy it and you are not doing that because it may appear on humble bundle.
Im just saying there is no way it will appear on the bundle, so you can get just buy it now before the discount goes away.

To The Moon was in an Indie Royale bundle and FTL is not going to be a HIB 7 Bonus.

Feel a bit silly, but I only recently noticed those extra bundle games. Was just installing the first pile of games and forgetting about it. Went back through the old stuff and found a bunch of extra games I could install/give away. Oops. :)

I just generally don't buy those kinds of indie games anymore; it never fails that they become pay-what-you-want within six months.

I think bundling games is a terrible idea. For some reason the ides just doesn't appeal to me. I'd rather buy them one by one from a store.

If were interested in bundles, I wouldn't pay a dollar for them. That's disrespectful. That's one of the reasons, I don't know how much to pay, especially since they throw charities I don't particularly care for in the mix. But mostly I just don't like bundles; I don't like few novels in one book, I don't like few movies on one DVD, etc. Franchise packs are a little different as they belong together, unlike games in bundles.
P.S. Also people who sell bundles are just extra middle men in the chain.

You used a bad comparison. It's more like a pack of few separated books/movies - especially now, when HIB uses separate keys. Most of other bundles like Indie Gala or Indie Royale do as well.
Hm, let's use an example. You wanted to buy Inception movie on DVD. The cheapest price you found was 20 euros. Then you see some "movie bundle"* with Inception and 3 other great movies. Its' cost is 5 euros.
...if you still bought the movie alone ("cause it feels disrespectful for Nolan's crew") for 20 euros, then it's ok. It's just that not everyone's got money for it... and the movies he's not interested in might turn out to be hidden gems. (for me it was VVVVVV in HIB)
*we had Humble eBook Bundle, Humble Music Bundle... is it time? :P

I just bought CaveStory+ and Symphony from the Steam store and now I'm worried.

In general, the people that complain about indie games getting in bundles (becoming pay what you want), are the people that pay the minimum for the bundles. They equate "pay what you want" with "get it for next to nothing" and treat it as such.
It is disappointing as it is like leeching off of the developers' creative output.

I agree. I see many people skipping Tiny and Big because they are sure that it will appear in a Humble Bundle(and it will, im sure). But it is a game that deserves the full price, as many on the humble bundle, imo. I snatched it up in the summer sale and loved every second of the game, and even if it gets on humble bundle, I do not care, because I did support the devs.

I've bought a bunch of indie games. Many in bundles and some outside of bundles. My big concern is that a lot of indie games are crap and it can be tough to tell before you play them. Usually I'll wait for a bundle but a few have managed to get me prior to going into a bundle like Legend of Grimrock and Bastion

Same here. There are a few I would've picked up this sale, but I've had too many I've already purchased come out in a bundle.

Same. Only time I'll pick up an indie game outside of a bundle now is if I really want to play it, I plan on playing it immediately and if it's 75% off or more. If any of those 3 conditions are not met, I don't buy it.

I was never really into indie games until I learned about the HIB. Since I don't have tons of time to play, going for the indie titles always seemed like a risk. With the HIB, I can essentially try out games that I would not have picked up on my own for a very modest price and experience things that I would never have experienced before.

Quite possible, though I couldn't tell which games I'm holding back on.

There are a few games that I've passed up on in the Steam sale due to this. I can't wait!
