Triple I might stand for Triple Indie, as the counterpart to AAA. Indie titles with the highest ambitions.
So I guess they united to form their own publisher, for III games.

This was my thought as well. Seems the most logical. Lots of conglomerations are starting their own publishing ventures lately.
