Not sure what you like, but if you like strategy, I recommend looking into Civilization (especially Civ 5) and Total War (depending on your favourite era, you could pick accordingly). Not sure if they are on sale or not. If you're more into action, I recommend Just Cause (Just Cause collection is in the current humble bundle) and Saints Row.

It is one of the forgotten hidden gem early FPS titles. It also has a hilariously stupid storyline that is acted out super seriously. Oh, and has an also good and somehow less forgotten sequel.

Thanks, but I'm past playing FPS games besides the Serious Sam franchise (plus these old 2.5D games now make me very nauseous), and even though my forum avatar almost everywhere is the old MK logo, my interest in MK now is limited to its story mode. (I'm a strange guy in the sense that I was always more interested in the stories in the MK games than the gameplay, even though I played them from MK1 to MK4 for many years.)

I'm huge fan of MK as well and i happen to own MK X, though i wouldn't mind Komplete edition :)
For some weird reason i like it more than MK X , i also smash buttons, but most of the time i loose.

Hey, we're using similar technique. Maybe we could try beat each other some time? Preferably in MKX.
As for pic, I've used some "make screenshot every minute" software while playing MKX, so I got bunch of cute screenshots with various Brutalities or Fatalities, if you're really that bored :P . But I picked that one, because irony :P

I really liked Rain, back in the Ultimate Mortal Kombat days.
Baraka is total hoot in later games, always so happy and teleporting everywhere before trying to eat people's faces. I always get a kick out of playing him.
As far as character concept.. hmm. Reptile and Smoke are the two that come to mind :)

Sub-Zero! :) My first MK was MK2 on SNES, after MK and MK2 on Amiga... after PC, Gameboy, etc.. but all time favorite is Sub-Zero! :)

Since You've never said what game should the fighter be from, let me choose Eddy Gordo from Tekken 3 :)
The power of his legs is way too big to beat him and that's why he is my favourite. Also his style - Capoeira - is interesting and not so common. I didn't even have to smash all the buttons to win while playing him as it was easy to learn combos with his legs. Nobody could beat me these times.
If it comes to Mortal Kombat... Well, I always wanted to play some more0 games from the series but I didn't play many of them. My first one was back on old NES console and I loved it. The other one was Mortal Kombat Unchained on PSP and... that's it. I haven't played any other as I never had opportunity and money to buy any other MK game. My favourite character was Scorpion and I also remember him the most. His deadly spear was a good one and I liked his ninja suit, which was simple and nice :)

Hmmmm... your mention of GoT on an MK giveaway got me thinking: We need GoT characters in MK, or, in fact, a whole MK: GoT edition. It would make for a great and endless arrange of fighters with different styles, from a white walker to Jon Snow, and everybody in between: The Mountain, Arya, the Sand Snakes, Brienne of Tarth, Bronn, Oberyn Martell, Jamie Lannister, Ed Stark, Khal Drogo, The Hound, Syrio Forel, Beric Dondarrion and Thoros of Myr, Ser Barristan, etc, etc. Aaaaand, many of them could already have signature fatalities straight from the show, right? :D.. I'm drooling already, am I not? :sigh: It'll never happen :(

OMG! Such a good idea, I would totally buy GoT edition. I know so many good and "good" characters to play with. I think that the most f*ed up fatalities will belong to Ramsay Snow. He is the most terrifying out of the whole bunch.
I actually played new GoT game. its pretty cool. I might replay it in the future. This item I tried to be nice and diplomatic. Next time I will be ruthless. muaahhhaa..muahhaa.. (.|/.)

It has annoying requirement - you have to hold one of kicks for few seconds before you can do it.
Which means you have to hold that kick before you do final punch.
If you do that, it's easy, just few moves forward or back or down.
