I saw that Thread but it's not directly related to what I was pointing to.. I was questioning about the ability to buy as a gift a game that would normally be blocked from being possible to buy as a gift (4 packs was an example of that use).
So far I'm understanding it was patched (verification added).

Ah, gotcha. I misunderstood your question. I believe proximus above is correct - from what I recall it was patched a couple of weeks ago.

I don't want to know how or expose it to a swarm of users.. I'd just like to know if someone can confirm that the workaround to buy gift items of games that you can't normally gift (special discounts or 4-packs) as been fixed by Valve.
I'm asking because I'm being unsuccesful where it worked everytime before, but I'm out of the country and Steam can be weird switching between currencies between page reloads.. Someone who knows the trick could try it and see if it works easily, please let me know.
