my biggest issue is that i can't quite figure out which encoding he used =/ or if it's actually segmented or not. it isn't the common types, meaning it's either some obscure encoding, or i need to pre-treat it somehow to work...

found code....but since there are literally thousands of methods to encrypt something - without further clue i wont invest more time

yeah, i've kinda reached that conclusion as well. =/ a shame too, i liked the way this started out.

are you serious?... i mean, finding the code was easy, but how'd you figure out what kind of encryption he was using?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You must have a minimum knowledge of encryptions and how they works. It's not a rocket science..

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

hmmmm...perhaps i know too much about different encryptions to see what you mean....there are lots of different encryptions out there...perhaps minimum is the clue to go for....
...but there are also lots of simple encryptions...

assuming the '=' is a seperator and the '\' just marks the end -> then the length of the pieces differ too much to be encryptions of same planetext or have to xor-ed to decrypt...

Nah, that's where i am. base64'ing it doesn't really reveal anything, and my searches have been unable to turn up what kind of algorithm outputs this kind of code as a result. I was wondering for a while if he had a bunch of md5'd pieces that we'd simply have to guess, but the character count doesn't quite add up to that either.

so you need something a little more than "minimum" complexity for this =P

you have to do this other way around, on the right track tho.

hm...there is no such thing as a "reverse" md5 ;)

and encoding this thin base64 instead of decoding does it not make look better

Sure I guess you can. But I must tell you it isn't as complex as I wished it to be because the game isn't worth the fight :) so it's suppose to be a couple minutes of work finding it out :)

Man thing is to recognize the encryption.

Promise to make harder, more fun one in near future when I get a cooler game to give away :)

Same. I got as far as finding the code, and reading his 2nd clue, being ESAB46, or 64 BASE in reverse. this goes together with him posting his avatar picture in reverse, with reversed spoiderman as name as well.

However reversing the string and then base64'ing it didn't really yield anything.

Haven't heard of esab 46 before I guess :)

One must master to identify which encryption it is and the deal is in knowing as much as possible.

Sorry lost internet connection.

In picture's details there is the code, code is encrypted with esab-46 when you decrypt the code you get base64 encryption and when you decrypt it you get the link :)

Oh also

3Enteries. :)

hm...well, never heard of esab-46 before, google gives some websites for encode/decode but no specification.

grats for those who got it right.

yeah, me either. but i've got a couple of neat new encoding names for next time something like this pops up. I was going the totally wrong track, since esab46 is 64base backwards, so i was reversing the string and crap =P

Download image, right click on it go to properties>details> and on the property of origin next to copyright is code :)code is encrypted with aseb46 encryption when you decrypt the code you get base 64 encryption when you derypt that one you get link to giveaway

It kind of was because one guy guessed right that code looks like base 64 and second was esab 46 and its base 64 backwards. LEL

I also said esab 46 in my first comment those only capital letters.
