Not so much TV, more or less anime. As for TV, I'm just waiting on more Spartacus and The Walking Dead.

If you haven't seen them yet, Firefly, Game of Thrones and Community. I also started watching one called Continuum, it seems interesting.

Movies? Ok.

  • All Tarantino's movies (Put a focus on Pulp Fiction)
  • All Kubrick's movies

Do that, won't just fill this up with movies.

I've been meaning to watch the whole series of LOST. On the sixth or seventh episode of season 1 right now

I recommend seeing:

  • Awake although it was canceled by NBC jerks (the show actually had a real ending and in my opinion was better that all of LOST... I'm prepared for the flames)

I haven't seen:

  • Touch
  • 24
  • Boardwalk Empire (even though it's been filmed right by me)
  • Fringe

>haven't seen Touch
>haven't seen Fringe

WHAT IN BLAZES ARE YOU WAITING FOR, START NOW.

Awake was good, but I was pissed at the ending, that's Writing 101, you DON'T DO THAT. NBC also cancelled My Own Worst Enemy which was a Jekyll and Hyde meets spies thing, that was amazing. Nine episodes. :(

That said, I haven't seen a single episode of Lost. When it first came out, the previews of it made me think it sounded retarded. A friend later told me that they eventually went into time travel shenanigans which is right up my alley. Why have I not seen it yet? My brother and I are waiting for it to come out on DVD as a complete collection and we're going to take a weekend and just watch the entire series nonstop.

To be honest, I saw a couple of episodes of Touch and one or two of Fringe. I'll watch them sometime in the future.

As for LOST, the series was good to a point, they had cliffhangers on EVERY episode and had an ending that practically threw out 2 seasons with major loopholes and missing characters. The time travel season was great, but unfortunately it was one of the seasons that didn't matter at the end. If you do watch the whole series, on the very last episode stop 10 minutes before it ends, make up your own ending, then put it away.

Most of those shows are not worth watching OP id go for breaking bad, training day, boardwalk empire and the officer are good as well, x files is old never my style, and have not seen the dictator yet.

Also you should put Game of Thrones at the top of that list if you haven't seen it you can get the first season on DVD the seconds season just ended. Also watch Eastbound and down.

As for movies just got onto IMDB and look up the top movies for 2011/12 there was some good stuff but I cant care to start listing them.

Mine is way too big to post here. I just counted through it and it's currently at 192 items, that includes probably 70% movies, 30% TV. Some of it I've watched before but it's all stuff I'd like to see again.

Had to add that OP should definitely watch Oz, a year or two I went back and watched the whole thing and seriously enjoyed it. That's a great show.

I have separate lists for both TV series and movies. Both are pretty huge i.e. about 70 items in them.

Some recommendations: Flight of the Conchords, Arrested Development and The IT Crowd.

MyEpisodes.com -- it's kinda like Backloggery, but for TV.
Especially useful for knowing when new episodes are out (new Burn Notice and Futurama soon!). And there's some nice Greasemonkey scripts for it too.

Could you please PM me about scripts for MyEpisodes? I use that site only cause I haven't found anything better for what I need (something like MAL or anime-planet) :(

No way to PM on these boards, I'm afraid, but userscripts.org works well for searching for Greasemonkey scripts for pretty much any site. Even with the script I use though, it's definitely not as well-organized and nice-looking as the anime sites (I used to use AniDB quite a bit years ago).

I've managed to watch some eps of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, whenever I could find free episodes/streams online or when DirecTV offers a free preview week of The Hub (which on their service is part of the premium "Extra" bundle, while Dish and most other cable outlets offer the channel on their basic tiers... :/ ) Until DirecTV can wise up and move The Hub to their Basic package, I'm stuck having to track down eps of MLP4 that I've not yet watched on the Internet...

Also looking forward to the new season of Flying Wild Alaska...I loves me some Ariel Tweto ;)

As for movies...I've had a bit of an interest in low-budget/grindhouse-y films from the 70s and 80s lately. It's a treat to find an old B-movie get posted uncut/uncensored on YouTube (although it's a wonder such films can actually get on YT, between copyright laws and the site's own adult-content regulations!)

Is that really worth watching.... For me it seems to go very unrealistic and sci/fi like, That gets annoying for me when they are trying to stay modern.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's really intense and I'd recommend the first three season without hesitating. But to be fair 24 gets unrealistic from time to time and sadly it also gets repetitive in later seasons, but it's still a great concept and worth watching.
