Yes, I got that bundle. I also picked up a few deals during the summer sale.

As far as I know, it includes "demo" versions of the other tables.

Actually, I prefer Pinball Arcade - Medieval Madness and Star Trek.

Pinball Arcade is set up in much the same way as Pinball FX2 with one free table and additional tables to be purchased separately. All of their tables are recreations of actual classic pinball machines.

Got a few table in humble bundle. Was fun to play a little. I played most on the Walking Dead table.

Not sure if I have a favorite from that bundle. The Star Wars tables seem to be fun.

I humbled it once (1st tier) and now I can't wait for another bundle :D
but probably I'll buy 1 or 2 steam bundles during next sale
you can add me, will have another "competitor" on my poor list (I easily topped my list, except for the whole game total score, where I really need more tables :P)

Haven't played for quite a while. Wasn't there some controversy a while ago, because they changed their EULA to allow more spying? I can't quite remember.
Apart from that, I have quite the collection of tables. I should freshen up my pinball skills. Invite me for a comparison :)

I think the controversy was because for the early buyers (before they introduced the free table)
there wasn't no EULA at all. When you read into the EULA, it's nothing you wouldn't find in any other
game EULA, like collecting stats for game and highscores. Probably Steam itself collects way more data.
But yeah, I can understand that some folks who actually paid full price for the game got pissed that
they were forced to accept an EULA after they bought, installed the game for some time.

I really like Pinball FX2, though I'd still prefer good old' pinball dreams on DOS, even though it had only 4 tables
and probably can't match with modern graphics - I liked it for it's simplicity.
What I don't like with FX2:
But, it's still a cool casual game. Just played a round, before I read your post. You may add me, but,
as I said, I'm not really good at the game ... my scores probably suck compared to yours.

Invite sent. While I like the design overall, I do often find myself fumbling, trying to figure out what I'm supposed to do next. As I learned from the 3D Ultra Pinball series, not only is it easy to really indicate the objectives, it really is necessary. 3D Ultra Pinball still isn't available on Steam. I don't know if it ever will. Have you played Pinball Arcade? The season one pack has a lot of great classic tables in it.

No never played pinball arcade. Just looked it up in the store. Might be a real alternative to FX2 if it's on sale.
Speaking of FX2, I probably can't beat your wizard score, ever, but I pretty much excel at those individual
tables that I actually play. I simply can't get myself to play those Marvel tables (more than a one or two times
out of curiosity that is) even if it helps my score. And even on those tables that I like to play, there's much
room for improvement - I'm just too clumsy and the game's a tad too fast for me overall.

Pinball arcade is distributed in much the same way as FX2, with one free table and more available either individually or in packages. The season one pack is the one to get, as it has a plethora of great tables including Mars Attacks, Twilight Zone, Star Trek the Next Generation, Medieval Madness, and Funhouse (all machines that I had the pleasure of playing IRL). Definitely keep an eye on that one when the next sale comes around.

I don't know if you can buy individual tables through Steam. You can purchase them in the game. I think the going rate is $4.99 per table. I have no idea if they ever go on sale for individual tables.

They do have an online Leaderboard system, but it's separate from Steam and not as intuitive.
Comment has been collapsed.
Okay, separate from Steam is not a bad thing per se, Steam's a giant data grab anyway.
It's just how do you compare your score with friends/people you know? If it's only all high
scores, that must be pretty frustrating ... just look at FX2 all time high, they're pretty much
unreachable to me.

Friends have to be added manually and I suspect that they need to be logged in with a Far Sight account. Then you can filter by local scores, friends or global. The base game is free, you can check it out yourself.

For what it's worth, there is a manual within the game for each table that you can flip through if one is so inclined. If I recall correctly it was not accessible from the main menu though, you had to actually start a game on a table and then pause and go to the menu.

You're right, but they could do a better job of revealing the targets in the game. When you're told to collect scrap metal and nothing remotely matching that description can be seen, it's very frustrating.

that don't even feel like a "real" table (meaning they have feature that can't be replicated on a real pinball box)
To me that is a strength of the game and a big part of the appeal of it. I love the fact that it can do stuff that is not possible on a real physical table while at the same time the physics are fairly good and predictable. I guess it just depends on what you are looking for though. That's why Pinball FX2 and Pinball Arcade offer a bit different things from one another, so to each their own.
I agree that I wish that they focused a bit more on original-themed tables as opposed to licensed stuff though. Some of the originals are actually among my favorites. In the end the most important thing though is how the table and its mechanics are designed and how interesting an experience it is, regardless of the theme.

That was one of the main concepts behind 3D Ultra Pinball - to take full advantage of cyberspace. I wish Zen would go a bit farther and create more virtual targets to interact with like the 3D Ultra games.

I often go to my town's bowling to play pinball, and I go totally crazy for it. My favourite one is a Sopranos-themed pinball on which, of course ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) , I have the greatest score. But I'll try this one, maybe is fun even if it's virtual ^^

Add me. I have some hours played and a lot of tables. Have this game perma-installed and I tend to play it in between "game projects" (the ones I start and decide to take to the finish line).

Just a heads up for my fellow pinball fans. Several pinball tables for Pinball FX2 are on sale in the Halloween sale:
Plants vs. Zombies
The Walking Dead
Paranormal
All for 74 cents each.
Pinball Arcade table packs are also on sale. Seasons 1 and 4 for under $20 and seasons 2 and 3 for under $10. (Season 1 has 21 tables and season 2 has 19 tables. Season 3 and 4 have 10 tables each.)

Feel free to add me. I'd love another Pinball playing friend!

I love PFX2 also, but I prefer to compete with my existing friends. It's hard to get them to play though :-/. On the other hand I'm nowhere near the global highscores level.

The more, the merrier. Let me know if you want an invite. Don't worry, I'm so busy these days that I don't have time for challenges. BTW, I'm no where near the global highscores either. But more friends equals better wizard score. ;)

Decided to play a bit today and I think I broke the game :D
In "Multiball" situation I saw a ball fly off the table when I shot it at the Citadel ramp on The Sorcerers Layer.
On another moment of the same game the thing from the screenshot happened...
The flippers was stuck, but there was a sound from moving them when I pressed the shift-s on my keyboard and the game registered a "shove" from the space button. After some seconds the game came out of the "cellar" and re-stared with a ball from the default start location. There was massive sigh of relief... And made my first "Midnight Madness" within ball 1.
Scary and exiting moments!

That's why we had an invisible "glass" on top of our 3D Ultra Pinball tables. And even then, there was a check for any ball outside of the table. Good times. Congrats!

Pinball FX2 (http://store.steampowered.com/app/226980/) lets you compete with friends for best score. The game itself is free and comes with one table - other tables cost extra. Anybody out there want to see how their score stacks up to mine? Did I mention the game is free and you can play on your own time (you don't have to arrange a time to play)?
Just a heads up for fans of this game. They've put a lot of the content at 75% off for the next 24 hours. (ends on Sept. 29) It's a good chance to expand your collection.Comment has been collapsed.
