Ah, you may be right... Is there a separate term, then, for just being quick enough to snatch a code? I guess that's what I thought "ninja" was in reference to: you have to be as quick as a ninja to be the first to grab the key. If you try to redeem the key and it's already used, that means someone with super-fast ninja reflexes already redeemed it while you were just highlighting the code and pressing ctrl+c...
But it works your way, too. A sneaky ninja took the key silently without leaving any trace that they had been there. I suppose "ninja" works better in this case, but then what's the word for snatching a key, but leaving a thanks, too?
