I used to care but not anymore. I have nothing to hide.

Telltale Bundle for Tor Project
Internet censorship and mass-surveillance have been going rampant lately, and the last few weeks have been rich in pretty bad news.
In China, some people are forced to install a spyware app on their smartphone and Apple has removed VPN apps from the App Store
In Russia Putin signed a law to ban VPNs and other proxy services
Maybe you think you are safer in "western" countries?
In USA, net neutrality might be over soon. Okay, that's not directly censorship or surveillance, but it could be used for instance to make Tor, Freenet, or VPNs super slow.
Meanwhile, Australia and UK are dreaming about banning encryption. And they're surely not the only ones. France, for instance (article in French, sorry), wants to force encrypted messaging services like WhatsApp to hand over the encryption keys.
Easy way to help: set your charity to Tor Project or Electronic Frontier Foundation next time you buy a Humble Bundle. Or even ACLU, although they are not focused just on the web and do USA-only.
Nerd way to help: if you have a high enough bandwidth with a high enough or unmetered data cap, and if you live in a country where it's not forbidden, you could also run a Tor relay 😇
Cheap and easy way to help: just use Tor Browser from time to time. The more people use the network, the safer it becomes.
