^^ True, I didn't like SGTools at first because of that indeed. But eventually I found that having a private profile is an issue not only with SGTools but with a lot of other GAs and Steamgifts itself anyway. Steam isn't very private either (all those stats about game usage, and that centralization of games...). So now I just consider all this as part of the Steam privacy-lacking package.

I'm glad that SGv2 doesn't force syncing with Steam if I don't enter giveaways. I can still post and make giveaways, and that's good enough for me. That wasn't the case with the original site. From my point of view it's the best quality of life improvement that happened to SG.

Well in this case you're not missing much, all the descriptions say is
Telltale Bundle for Tor Project
Please make sure you passed the SGTools check before entering (available in above-mentioned thread)
To the winner: you'll receive a Humble Bundle link. Please double check that you don't already own the game before revealing the link 👀

Bump for a good cause. Nod in agreement on those who find Steam remarkably unprivate.

Thank you for your giveaways DingDong and the useful information! ^^
I think that a lot of people don't know\are unaware about this.

Per default, I set my Humblebundle charity to the Free Software Foundation, but ocassionally, when the bundle suggested I donated to the EFF as well. I didn't even think of the TOR project, but that's an excellect idea. Thanks for the info.

Telltale Bundle for Tor Project
Internet censorship and mass-surveillance have been going rampant lately, and the last few weeks have been rich in pretty bad news.
In China, some people are forced to install a spyware app on their smartphone and Apple has removed VPN apps from the App Store
In Russia Putin signed a law to ban VPNs and other proxy services
Maybe you think you are safer in "western" countries?
In USA, net neutrality might be over soon. Okay, that's not directly censorship or surveillance, but it could be used for instance to make Tor, Freenet, or VPNs super slow.
Meanwhile, Australia and UK are dreaming about banning encryption. And they're surely not the only ones. France, for instance (article in French, sorry), wants to force encrypted messaging services like WhatsApp to hand over the encryption keys.
Easy way to help: set your charity to Tor Project or Electronic Frontier Foundation next time you buy a Humble Bundle. Or even ACLU, although they are not focused just on the web and do USA-only.
Nerd way to help: if you have a high enough bandwidth with a high enough or unmetered data cap, and if you live in a country where it's not forbidden, you could also run a Tor relay 😇
Cheap and easy way to help: just use Tor Browser from time to time. The more people use the network, the safer it becomes.
