OKAY SO
I remember a few years ago used to be obsessed with a train simulator. I have absolutely no idea what it was called. I don't even remember how long ago it was - at least 4 years though. It looked graphically similar to Train Simulator/Railworks on Steam (as in, it wasn't cartoony like Sid Meier's Railroads). But I'm pretty sure it's not Train Simulator/Railworks because I've played the game (the 2011 version at least) and it truly felt like a completely different game than what I had played in my past.
With the Trainz Simulator sale on Steam, I'm super excited because it LOOKS like it could be the game. And I'm excited for that to be true. But I don't want to spend ten bucks on the game and be disappointed. I doubt anyone can really help me, but all I'm hoping for is for someone to confirm/deny that the game I know is the game I see.
There are only a few things I remember vividly about it:
-Graphics. Like I said before, it LOOKS like Train Simulator 2011/Railworks 3, but doesn't play just like it.
-I remember you could dig tunnels downwards - they didn't have to be level or straight, so you can dig a tunnel straight into a mountain, within the tunnel make it slope down, then back up and have the trains exit at an angle or something like that.
-I remember you could have toy trains. Like, in a realistic-looking environment, just have big block wooden toy trains. I remember making it go too fast on too tight of a turn and they fell sideways and all.
If anyone can tell me whether or not this was a previous Trainz game, or maybe tell me I was wrong and it was a previous Railworks game, I'd be grateful for the info, because no amount of Googling or Youtubing seems to be capable of providing me with answers. If it's neither of these games and it's a completely different game that you can name I'll feel really bad that I don't have money to buy you something. Seriously though, if you could show me a game cover (retail) I'd probably be able to recognize it right away. Don't take this info as fact because I might just be crazy, but I very, very, very vaguely recall the box cover having a blue freight engine on it.
PS - disable adblock for Steamgifts if you need to. The ads are physically completely out of your way and you'll be providing money for this site to run faster. Because it takes forever to load pages lately.
