If you'd been given the power to resurrect 1 person, whom you haven't ever met (meaning not close relatives), who would you choose and why?

Some may answer Einstein or other great minds of the past, but bear in mind that these minds will "wake up" in an entirely different world from what they are used to.

Personaly I would resurrect Tolkien to continue his work of Middle-Earth (although he might decide to destroy it after seeing the movies, it's a risk :D).
I am curious to see weird and unexpected answers.

Edit: Pls don't spoil any content of any movie or book.

Myself of course.

Ah. Someone I haven't met.
Jonathan Brandis then. Why? He was a good kid I guess.
I liked Sea Quest DSV when I was little.
And Ladybugs.
And Sidekicks.
And Neverending Story 2.

I think kitty0706. The guy who makes hilarious Gmod videos.

He passed away because he had leukemia cancer and A LOT of people have been traumatized and depressed by hearing those news.

It would be great to resurrect him. But let's be realistic.... it will never happen ;_;

Nelson Mandela. Don't get me wrong, I dislike the guy, but this country has a been a perfect storm of racism, ineptitude, unrest and general misery since he's been dead.

From what I've heard from the South-Africans I know, it wasn't much better before he died though.

It was much better during his term and just after it though.
And as long as he was alive the true dogs of war couldn't be unleashed due to respect for him, he would have never wanted apartheid to repeat itself in reverse and had the respect and strength of character to prevent it.. Now however we are getting ever closer to open season on just about everything, including successive revolutions. (And there was never a true threat of the government being unseated under him, but now each day brings growing unrest). The fence those dogs were being kept behind is shrinking all the time now.

Not quite. For the moment the mask of civility remains in most parts, but it's getting more cracks every day. Something's gotta give, dunno when, but I do know that when it does it won't be pretty. There is a tremendous amount of hate bubbling around the place. Every once in a while you see it surface in Xenophobic attacks in select areas or the brazen brutality of home invasion style robberies, but it's inevitable that it can't be contained to such select events forever, eventually there will be full scale civil war. Maybe no today, maybe not tomorrow, perhaps not even this year, or maybe we can keep the illusion of peace for another 5 years or whatever, but almost every day it feels like we are another step closer. And the ever-worsening exchange rate agrees.

I would say Jesus (all christians stand up and applaud me) so he can tell everyone that he was just a normal guy with some nice ideas and that they got it all wrong (all christians want to kill me).

Same with Muhammad and all other religious prophets.

But wouldn't the Second Coming of Christ automatically start Apocalypse? And if you resurrect him too early, he will be too weak to fight the Anti-Christ.

Hmmm, can't think of anyone I'd bring back to do something like write a book or create anything for that matter. It would probably be someone famous from history to ask about their time and learn about them from the horse's mouth. I'll go with Gengis Khan, runner-up Julius Caesar.
