I grew up playing the original series, so I'm nostalgic about it. I played the demo on Xbox Arcade, it wasn't exactly the same as the old games, but close enough. I'm just curious how it translates to PC with keyboard and mouse. Is it still fun? Easy to play without an Xbox controller? It's only 7.49 currently but I've spent 22.49 out of $100 so far and I still have a few major titles to purchase.

Edit: Just noticed it has no multiplayer. Kind of a let down.

You have an xbox... is your controller wired? If it is, just use it with your PC.

Nah I tried that, I have a wireless and unless I spend $20 on an adapter I'm screwed. Plus from what I hear the adapter is a pain and people hate it.

Well getting a gamepad for PC is totally worth it, IMO

I keep looking into wired 360 controllers but the cheapest I've found is like $32. I don't think anything over $20 is worth paying for in terms of a wired controller. I'd certainly use one if I had it, but it's more of a luxury for me at the moment. Nothing I own really requires one, though for something like Saints Row 3, or Skyrim it can be comfortable.

I have adapter and 2 wireless controlers, it works fine, and most games change GUI when gamepad is on (THPS HD don't do that :/)

Are you talking about the $20 USB one? I saw that on Newegg but it has mixed reviews.

Hmm, I saw the adapter that's in that package by itself for $20. How much did you pay for that whole thing? I'm guessing around $40?

Wow so its total crap. The console version was bad enough. Having that castrated is crazy.

Its pretty terrible...and I LOVED the old games. No multi-player, no split screen....for some reason this is missing from the PC version but there in the consoles version.

Man that sucks, even having matchmaking for Skate or some other minigame would have been nice. It doesn't even play like the originals, the physics seem off so you can't do the excessive chain combos that IMO, made the series so much fun.

They destroyed it and left out most game modes, devs must have been on the crack.

There's no split screen in the console version either, BTW.

Ahh thanks, forgot honestly, I remember there being some multi-player.

Split screen should be standard though, playing HORSE with friends is fun.

I bought this on 360 when it was released and have to say it's a huge letdown. The physics are just...weird compared to the originals and the level selection is weak (did we really need both the warehouse from 1 and the hangar from 2, for example?)

I'm glad someone else felt the physics were off. It feels more floaty than the originals. Seems harder to maintain a long grind as well.

Yea shame there's no multiplayer, but the GFX are good and the gameplay is virtually the same as the old playstation versions.

It's worth it. Nothing like any other game on steam really.. sometimes only THPS will fit the mood.

Given all the negative responses I probably won't pick it up, especially considering lack of multiplayer. Just curious how it handles with a keyboard and mouse. Is it WASD and Arrow Keys or hows that work?

Basically you feel like you are controlling a drunk pro skater.

Funny, but not fun....

Wow they made a terrible Tony Hawk game. That video is depressing.

Wow, those keyboard controls look like complete ass. The old THPS games actually had a half-decent system where you used the numpad for tricks. (of course, a controller was always preferable)
