I mean i wouldnt expect it at all. 4 years ago i had only 1 game on steam and if someone would tell me that i will give away 1k games in the next couple years i would think he is just crazy ^^

Yeah it happens constantly and not always in our favour i guess, but makes it more interesting probably this way.
I was a playstation fanboy for most of my life and hardly played anything on pc and then i found out that there is
a digital version of a boardgame (Talisman) which i loved as a kid so it was the reason for me to download steam in first place.
Then i played ONLY Talisman for many years + one game which was for free and was still not considering at all to build a library...

Heh Talisman was pretty cool, and a great reason to get on Steam.
My oldest Steam games on my current account are Tomb Raider Underworld and Mass Effect. I got them in the winter sale back in 2013 because I kept damaging the DVDs and I couldn't remember the login to my first account xD
I first came to Steam because I was looking for Secret of Monkey Island ahem "online" and found this article that said Lucas Arts was coming to Steam and so I ended up creating an account.
I just didn't believe this Steam thing was going to last xD but I thought it would be cool to have some games available without having to dig for CDs so i grabbed Monkey Island and the Indiana Jones games from Lucas.

1000, much big number, wow!
Did you ever play the LOTR games on the GCN, PS2, and Xbox? I was always a Aragorn guy, but Legolas was dope too. They actually made Gimli less viable because he runs slower lol.

Actually i never played any LOTR games.
I guess the main reason why im a Legolas guy is, that i was a fan of bows for my whole life.
Everything started with Robin Hood probably ^^

I mean when i was a kid/teen i had a bow but now not anymore.
But i wouldnt exclude to get one someday!

Fair, he had some of the best stylish moments for sure. You ever played the old Robin Hood game? This one?
I watched some videos about it and it was really interesting how many alternative paths they came up with and the hijinks you could get up to if you wanted.

It’s just a gog (GoodOldGames) link to Conquests of the Longbow: The Legend of Robin Hood. An adventure point and click classic.

Oh i never heard about this game. I love the p&c genre usually, but im trying not to get any games outside of steam.
On GOG for example the only game i got was Diablo 1.
EGS i completly ignore.
