Love the info, in response to the poll I figured it'd be relevant to mention I use an extension that was linked a bunch a little while ago (which after a bit of digging I found the original thread here.) that actually makes it pretty obvious that there were two links in each percentage, sorry.

np, I really love the darker colors on most websites so I keep it on almost all the time.

I just idled Deus Ex for the cards last night. I definitely plan on playing the game, but probably not before I get a new graphics card. So, is it better for me to wait until I actually play to get the cards (when they will likely sell for cheaper), or idle them immediately when they are most valuable?
Full disclosure, I purchased the game myself and didn't win it in a giveaway.

I took the sourcecode option because I opened all links... but without using the source code.
I have an add-on which lets me select an area by holding the right mouse button. It highlights links and opens them on release.
Thank you for the GAs, have a break, have a bump!

I was reading everything you wrote, watching all those poll results, when I suddenly entered one of your giveaways. After realizing that the % char was the key, I felt like "whoah, did he really hide all these links there?", only to feel stupid after reading the poll in this thread... Thanks for the giveaways!

Bump for recruitment to bring down the master Necromancer leader known as Yirg!
i have uncovered his secrets, hidden in plain sight, he sends his evil disciples to raise dead threads back to life

Regarding the bl, the reason is that you entered the ungiftable keys List 1 (Iteration #4) without adding a comment about which key/s you took (or which keys you tried to activate and were already used). See more details in the relevant ungiftable keys thread (specifically the parts in bold).

I'm one of the .0001% of the people here who have met Dan Quayle. I now feel unique.

Welp, I fear I will never understand this idling buisness. Why activating/joining a giveaway for a game you are not interested in/you think is bad? All that for just a few cents? Okay, depending where people are from those few cents can be a lot. Still, I would assume the minority does not get money outside of Steam. So all they can use the money for is buying other games (which they probably won't play as well).
Also has anyone ever reached the limits of his whitelist? I don't even know 1000 different users on SteamGifts O.o. Also I wonder why I didn't even notice most of those poll threads. I visited like 4 in total. Although some of them have a topic which interests me.

Wow O.o That is impressive. I would like to think that you are one of the exceptions. Then again the poll said that 30 % think it is too low which implies they are in a similar position. Then again the topic title probably attracted those in similar position so the result of it might be not represantive. ^^
Hm, while I am at it. Do I assume correctly that the whitelisted user has been increasing rather fast at the beginning and is now slowly drifting into saturation? Or is it a more linear function? Just asking since those final 150 users still might take a while since you probably have whitelisted the majority of the active usership.

You are very accurate with this assumption. Before the SGTools GA era whitelisting was one of the only two effective ways to completely avoid rule breakers (the other being group GAs). Back then I added many people who had a clean profile and normally also a good ratio. I also added a smaller number of users based on them writing insightful or helpful posts on the forum. Nowadays it's almost completely the opposite, so the pace has slowed down. I also rely almost exclusively on SGTools to make my GA creation experience trouble free, so I'm less dependent on the whitelist for this.

Part I is here and covers off-topic subjects. I really should have kept that thread, which is more lighthearted, for my Cake Day, but it's too late for this now. So here's Part II. Most of the polls listed here are about SteamGifts, with a few exceptions that are not totally off topic. I'll sandwich the more controversial polls between less offensive ones to make things easier to consume ;-)
Ok, enough with the pleasantries...
That wasn't so bad, was it?
A poll is also included with this thread and is related to your experience with links in Part I of the thread (the one about Off Topic subjects). Please vote truthfully :-)
Enjoy!
