I know that is maybe a solution but i don't feel comfortable giving a key that is present in my account. I read somewhere that you can claim ownership of a account with the keys that are registered in it.

Give him both, since one of the keys are useless.

Really if you add them as a friend on Steam you could just give them one key, ask them to activate it and then if they tell you it doesn't work you know you gave the wrong key so you say the other one.

^^^ This is how I would go about it. Just give the key, wait for activation. If it doesn't work, have them check it, again. If it still doesn't work, give them the second key and repeat the process.
