I recommend getting Kaspersky, it's a lot more reliable than all the other antiviruses I've tried. After that just do a full computer scan of every file and delete anything that may be infected.

If your computer is so buggered that the usual fixes don't work, perhaps the best thing to do is format the drive and make a fresh start?

Also, go easy on the donkin'. Even if it doesn't end up in more PC woes, it will eventually damage your eyesight..

Good luck :)

Adware is what I believe I have its something called CantataWeb. Can't delete it for whatever reason.

1) Try Mawarebytes, again

2) ADWCleaner

3) RogueKiller (Seriously, watch a tutorial before You use it, because it can f$ck up Your PC)

4) Don't donky (?) around the Internet.

1) Uninstall CantataWeb from your computer using the Uninstall Program function.
2) Uninstall Cantataweb from your browsers (remove the plugins).
3) Check for traces of CantataWeb with ADWCleaner.
4) Check for traces of CantataWeb with Malwarebytes.
5) If anything is left, remove it with Hitman Pro.

That is the way you remove pretty much any adware that insists on being on your computer. You can substitute Spybot Search & Destroy for ADWCleaner in Step # 3, and you can substitute Revo Uninstaller Pro for Hitman Pro in Step # 5, but the process is basically the same.

Here are a few things to keep in mind for the future:

  • The adware is on your hard drive because you were not paying attention to what you were clicking on and gave it permission.
  • Malwarebytes is not an antivirus. It is a "sweeper" program designed to catch the stuff that an antivirus misses.
  • At most, you should have one antivirus program, one sweeper program, and one maintenance program (e.g. Glary Utilities) running at one time.

CantataWeb? I missed something? Oh, it seems a lot of people "gets" that lovely software.
Will take note of those I don't know for those family&theirfriends calls...

Apparently, you missed this post.

Yes, there are lots of lovely things floating around on the internet. The cleaning process is pretty much the same for all of them. The really bad viruses require an HDD formatting, but that's repair rather than cleaning.

ADWCleaner with bitdefender should help you.
might also want to turn on windows to get admin verification on aggressive. so it might limit the self copying to a minimum.

Upgrade your brain. You only get viruses if you don't know what you're doing and click anywhere...

I agree, but you just need a ounce of common sense to not be stupid.

I would never feel safe doing any payment stuff afterwards even if let 3 scanners on it, suppose it misses something, only putting back a backup or format to be 100% safe, then install a scanner in the first place that would prevent malicious stuff from being opened.
