Do you use any win7 tweakers like 7tt or classic shell menu? Also try running AVZ to check for keyloggers.

tweakers are just some tools enhancing gui and other stuff.
classic shell menu brings back xp-like start menu in win7 and 7tt adds some other stuff like classic right-button context menu in taskbar.
I had keyboard lag while having both of them running with some options enabled.
also make sure you didn't spoil water or coffee on the keyboard before so that's some keys got stuck and disallow normal typing. :D

I have a suggestion, since I have gotten somewhat of a problem like yours. It is known that when you boot up the computer the system will automatically calibrate with your keyboard and mouse. However you can find programs to scan and fix your key board issues.

Try an ultra cheap keyboard ora friend's or family members one just to establish whether the problem lies with the X4 and/or it's drivers or is just a general issue affecting all keyboards.

I had this a long time ago, my keyboard was fine, it was my operating system, it would start, and then stop, and then a couple days later it would start again, and stop; it kept on looping like this. I bought a new keyboard and the problem persisted. Then I just reinstalled my OS and everything was fixed.
