Never had this issue.
So,Scroll wheel dirty?
If you really sure it isnt your mouse.
Than i would assume its some Addons,
Something that changes the site size? Adblock that would be displayed on the spot you try to scroll?Or EGST or any tool you guys are using that blocks some specific part of the screen from scrolling?
Do you play games at the same time does the game overleap with the game in background?
I wouow the exact circumstance wld like to knhen it happens on sg.
i dont use any addons for sg ,so i cant be sure which one ,but its just a bold guess .
BUMP to help .

No issues with the mouse. I don't use anything but 1 extension and it doesn't block anywhere I scroll. I also generally don't use a browser when I am in game.
This is occurs on SG sometimes just when I'm scrolling down the main page, it will stop all of a sudden. I can pull down the scroll bar and work it that way. Refreshing the page will make it so it functions normally again. I'm thinking it may be a bug in the new build of chrome. It's weird though cause this issue as I mentioned doesn't happen on any other site than this.

I have never had the scroll wheel not work, but I have had a scrolling issue that shows up once in a while. I can't remember, but I think this may have happened on other sites, so it is probably not related to SG.
If you hold the scroll wheel down, you can continuously scroll the page until you release the button. You can also click the scroll wheel and it will lock into the scroll mode until you click a button on the mouse again. I have had the browser get stuck in the scroll mode and it won't stop no matter how many times I click a mouse button. I just have to click escape on the keyboard to exit the scroll mode and everything works like normal again. I have probably had it happen at least 8 or 10 times over the past month.
This is probably just an issue with me though. I am running an old version of my browser and my mouse or USB port is starting to fail. A few times a week the mouse will just shut off and I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to come back on. It's also an old mouse that I have had to cut and reconnect the wires 2 or 3 times in the past because they break right in front of the mouse from getting bent back and forth too many times in the same spot. I guess a wire could be breaking again.
Sorry, this comment was probably not helpful. I just felt like sharing my mouse issues :)
Edit: I just built a new computer and did a fresh install of Windows 10 with the latest version of Chrome and this still happens. I am still running Ublock Origin and Tampermonkey with SGv2 Dark and Steamgifts Discussions Enhanced scripts, so it could be related to one of those.

oh it was very helpful!
click escape on the keyboard to exit the scroll mode
I didn't know you can do that! not like clicking the wheel ain't easier but hey, that's a nice tidbit and I do love my keyboard shortcuts!
It's also an old mouse I have had to cut and reconnect the wires in the past
if that's a good mouse then why not! and all the better to you if you can do it on your own! not only you save money, you keep a mouse you love I assume it's a good mouse and you enjoy it, otherwise you wouldn't fix it that much, would you and you're not producing extra e-waste! I just hate how they make everything now to be so disposable - use it once and throw away - that's the worst!
And hey, I had to rewire my mouse as well, no shame there! :) That's like the most fragile part of the mouse yet one that's easiest to repair, or even replace it if you're not handy with the soldering iron. Wish manufacturers would just make them user replaceable...

I mostly don't like change and when I find something I like, I try to keep it working. It's an old Microsoft WMO 1.1A from the early 2000s. Just up the polling rate to 250 or 500hz and it works great.
I also had the left and right click fail a couple times. The contacts inside the switch will get corroded over time and you will start getting issues where clicks randomly won't register, it will double click when you want one, or if you try to hold the button down to drag something or highlight it will release it on it's own.
You can fix that by using a needle to fill the switches with a mixture of salt and vinegar (all salt dissolved) to remove the corrosion off the copper contacts. Work the switch a bunch to get all the air out and let it fill completely. Then flush the switch out with alcohol a few times to get all the salt and vinegar out and let it dry. You can use the needle dry to force air through the switch to help it dry quicker.

I have the same issue you described happening a few times per week. Also, I only discovered recently that using ESC exit that mode and fix the issue. But it still happens regularly :/ I use the Logitech g502 for almost 10 years now I think, but never had any issue with the cable. My guess is that it's either a chromium bug or an extension, not related to your mouse.

It might be. I have only noticed it when using Chrome. I have the extensions Ublock Origin, Linkclump, and Tampermonkey (SGv2 Dark and Steamgifts discussions enhanced).

I'm using Brave (which is also a Chromium browser) and it includes a ad block by default. The only extension I have in common with you is Tampermonkey but I don't use the scripts you mentioned as I'm using the standalone ESGST extension.
Also, I'm pretty sure this problem happened on other websites than SG but I could not tell which ones for sure.

Do you currently have an addons or extensions on Chrome?

Okay so you have the same issue as me, but I don't have ESGST. Do you have any other things installed that aren't specific to SG? Like an adblocker or anything else?

Alright so there doesn't seem anything else in common other than Chrome. I ended up going into the Chrome settings and restoring the original defaults to see if the latest Chrome update possibly caused an issue with any changes I made previously. The issue with the scorlling doesn't happen a lot so I'll be watching to see if it occurs over the next few days and I'll kee ya updated. Hopefully resetting fixed the issue.

Never experienced this issue, running Chrome as well on latest stable build while also using a mouse that's prone to scroll wheel issues (Razer Deathadder Essential). If your mouse uses a control software you should try to update it. Maybe your mouse has a dirty scroll wheel (same issue that affects my particular mouse from having a functional scroll wheel, dust gets too easily inside the mechanism for the wheel)? I've had this same issue on my mom's pc in Windows but in other stuff it worked fine, a mouse swap worked for some reason. You could also try this website for a comfortable period of time, to check for scroll wheel faults that are hardware: https://devicetests.com/mouse-test.

It's not a mouse issue, it's some sort of browser issue, possibly a Ublock Origin issue.

My only idea in this case would be to disable endless scrolling in ESGST if you use it.

I don't use ESGST or any enhancements for SG. As I mentioned in the OP I don't have anything that alters scrolling.

That could be. It's so wierd it's only happening on SG though.

I don't know if any of the following will help you, but I have some suggestions.

When it happened the other day I did test clicking the mouse wheel and that did work. I wish I knew what caused it as it's just wierd. It doesn't happen a lot so it's really hard to try to troubleshoot. I ended up resetting Chrome to the default settings just to see if maybe there was some bug with the latest build. Guess now I just wait and see if it does it again.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who took a moment to post suggestions and feedback, I really do appreciate it.
I've gone and reset my Chrome settings to default, as I believe the newest update might have caused some issues. So now I wait to see if it occurs again, hopefully it doesn't.

It just happened for the first time in over 10 days.
This is such a wierd issue to try and troubleshoot as it's exclusive to SG. It still has never happened before on any other site.
Like before I was still able to scroll with using the mouse to grab and pull down the scroll bar as well as clicking the scroll button.
Refreshing the page didn't fix the issue this time. I did try to refresh several times and it still didn't fix the issue. When it was happening before I was able to just refresh and it fixed it. Opening a new tab with SG it was working normally again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not that familiar with the developer tools on Chrome, but I'll definitely look into it and see if anything checks out.

A shot in the dark perhaps but......do you have Adblock disabled on SG? Might be one of the ads messing with you
Comment has been collapsed.
I have Ublock Origin enabled on SG, so no ads are getting through. At one point I thought maybe it was that, but other people commenting said they have that as well and haven't encountered the scrolling issue before. Ublock Origin isn't just a Adblocker, it's a full spectrum blocker so I can't really rule out that it could be causing the issue. I have it enabled for basically everwhere else as well and never had the issue.

Sometimes my scolling wheel with not work on SG and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
I figured I would post this to see if this is an isolated issue or not.
I'm using Google Chrome, it's updated to the newest build.
This doesn't occur all the time, just once in awhile.
This only occurs on SG. I've never had this happen on any other site.
I don't have anything that changes scrolling on my web browser, no infinite scrolling, nothing in Chrome settings etc. etc.
If the issue happens I refresh the page and then the scroll wheel works again.
UPDATE - 07.25.22
It just happened for the first time in over 10 days.
This is such a wierd issue to try and troubleshoot as it's exclusive to SG. It still has never happened before on any other site.
