This is probably pretty easy, given the stuff I normally see here, GLHF!

No contrib. You have until Jan 10, 9am CST.

It seems to me that some people might need a little help, well, here's a few hints:

  1. No Hints, it's easy.

  2. One of the few games of this type available for DOS.

  3. Shareware.

Solutions:

Use a Hex -> Ascii Converter, get this: xjjf://yjijeexqht.sec/fkppbu/Yphzi1IW

Which is encoded with a Caesar cypher, shift of 11: http://itstoohard.com/puzzle/Izrjs1SG

The answers to the quiz are

  1. F-Zero

  2. One Must Fall 2097 - Which is currently available as freeware, for those interested

  3. Major Stryker - Which is also available for free at the 3dRealms website (Who used to be known as the shareware publisher Apogee...)

Recognized the first two right away, but got wrong answer on the second. When I found out why it made me wonder if I actually don't know the third, or if it has a similar situation with its accepted answer. I don't think I can say more in public, haha.

I'm still stuck a day later. I've tried so many combinations of what I think it is, but no success so far. But, I can't tell if that's because it's something else, or if the accepted answer is different than, say, the wikipedia title.

Edit2: I will give up on the third question, I have dug through the entire shareware inventory the internet has to offer, but I'm stumped.

Are you sure you encoded it correctly? because decoding it doesn't make any sense: where "http" should be is "xjjf" which would mean x equals h, j equals t and f equals p. But later, e equals m AND c equals m, lolwut? Too hard :<

Number 1 gave me a lot of trouble because I had heard the name before but never seen it.
Number 2 I got easily because I did play that one a lot.
Number 3 got me stumped. I can't figure it out and the Internet is no help.
