Can someone with knowledge clear up whether or not it is permissible to use bot / script that automatically joins giveaways. Whatever paintjob you want to give it, I'm pretty sure everyone knows what is meant. I know without doubt a certain person is doing this as their account is always online 24/7 and they have given me issue twice now and not just me. Easy to check people leaving comments on this person not checking wins despite being online always. So is it against rules or not? Can we out these people or is that against some rule?

I guess I can always start using that blacklist feature even though I hate to. I feel deflated. :D

It's actually been group giveaways. Same guy twice, only person causing issue.

It's violating the rules to use autojoin scripts. You're not allowed to name and shame on the forum instead report the user to support and hope your report gets handled before the universe ends :). If you want a reliable answer about someone specific talk to Masafor. I can relate to your dislike of blacklist but trust me there exist members you just don't want to win one of your gifts.

I think it is against the rules but no enforcement applied

Yes, against the rules. Link to guidlines: https://www.steamgifts.com/about/guidelines

Under the entering section you find: Scripts are not allowed to be used to automatically enter into giveaways. This includes scripts that enter multiple giveaways at once, or scripts that enter giveaways while you are away.

I have no computer skills, so no idea how you would prove that someone is using scripts to auto enter giveaways. Using your blacklist seems like the most practical solution.

It is not allowed and it was enforced a long time ago, but I'm not sure if anything is being done anymore.

Here's an old thread from the creator of the site talking about having to suspend 1600 users.
