Could be a RAM Failure, if it didn't happen before, try to remember what is it that you did before this began, otherwise you're running blind here trying to troubleshoot this problem.

? Great troubleshooting there, tex.
"Oh yeah this is your problem, do this" before you've even asked anything xD

Got any way to support that other than your own situation? You do realize that you can potentially make him get himself a proper sound card only to fail at solving the issue, wasting his money in the end.

Well it's much better to post the solution and justification behind it, instead of just the solution.
OP could try disabling the sound card and give it a go.

Google TDR timeout. Read about it some. It sounds like your graphics card driver is crashing somehow and making your whole PC hang. You can tweak some registry keys to modify the timeout values and default behavior when it hangs (so your whole PC doesn't hang but only your graphics driver, and it crashes to desktop), although I strongly advise you only do so if you know what a registry is, and know what you're doing.
Does this only / mainly happen with BF3? Have you already done the basics of checking your vid card temperature as it runs? Do you overclock your vid card?

Do you overclock your vid card? What program do you check temps with?
Also, if this started a week ago, that suggests a change of some kind. Maybe you've simply got to open up your PC case and run a vacuum cleaner through it, and use some cotton sticks to clean heatsinks / fans of dust. Or, some other form of hardware failure. Best would be to check your case for dust and clean it well, then run MEMTest or some other memory testing tool, along with a GPU test like FurMark, to see if any hardware component's failing.
Next thing to think of would be malware - viruses, trojans, rootkits, etc. If all your hardware's running fine, and your vid card's not overheating when you check temps, I'd try and go for a format / fresh install of windows - nuke and pave.

yes this is true: wait 20 to 30 minutes, explain everything atleast twice, get a anwser like " please send us your specs to this email", than receive the automated message "dev team has been alerted of this problem, they'll get back at ya shortly", after that you can die in peace knowing atleast your grand children will get a reply someday

Test and see if this problem happens with other games. If it does, DOWNGRADE you driver to an older version. Hope this helps

Hello,
Whenever I play BF3 my PC freezes after like 5-10 minutes in the game. I also hear a buzzing sound coming from my headset.
The freeze doesn't go away at all, so I have to restart my PC every single time.
What should I do, and what is the problem?
Thankful for help c:
Also, don't tell me to post this in EA/battlelog forums. Because I don't wanna :3
additional info:
Could this be caused of a WAT remover? I used it couple months ago when I didn't play BF3, and now that I've googled a bit I've seen people with same problem that also had watremover. Could that be the problem?
