Battlefield 3 crash help

Update you GPU driver.

Specs first.

Does you PC meet the requirments for BF3? Try to close all other programs and disable your AV before you start it.

Google TDR timeout. Read about it some. It sounds like your graphics card driver is crashing somehow and making your whole PC hang. You can tweak some registry keys to modify the timeout values and default behavior when it hangs (so your whole PC doesn't hang but only your graphics driver, and it crashes to desktop), although I strongly advise you only do so if you know what a registry is, and know what you're doing.

Does this only / mainly happen with BF3? Have you already done the basics of checking your vid card temperature as it runs? Do you overclock your vid card?

Is your PC Clean or Infected?

Try to update your graphic card drivers... this should help

I had the same problem.
You should get a USB or PCI sound card (stop using this one on your MB) and the problem will stop.

well if you don't want to post on battlelog forum, you should at least search their technical help section and see if anyones having similar problem with a fix.

Test your ram

Test and see if this problem happens with other games. If it does, DOWNGRADE you driver to an older version. Hope this helps

If it's the same problem as in Bad Company 2 you have to uninstall Punk Buster and install it manually from the official website.

Nvidia control panel > Profile settings > Battlefield 3

it's a sound driver issue with realtek. u need a usb or pci sound card.. or try upgrding to win 8 and see. cz it fixed it for me :D

Open your Realtek Manager in the taskbar, choose the Default Format tab. Change the sample rate from 24Bits 48000 Hz to 24Bits 44100 Hz. See if this helps.

Have you tried to re-install or repair the game? (Right-click "repair Install")? Is it only on Singleplayer or Multiplayer?

I had this problem with my old PC, only on BFBC2 and problem was solved when I had reduced the CPU overclock (was a Q6600 at 3.4GHz, no problems at 3.2GHz).
It might be the same case with your PC, some overclocked hardware fault.

I have exactly the same problem and i can only play without sound too.In my case i have IDT Audio driver. I think the problem is in the High Definition Sound system that crashes and freezes the game.
