I'm 99% certain this is what is happening in order to avoid the lack of points on the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle.

Yes, that is exactly what is happening. I'm going to suggest we fix that.

yup. Cult's actually been mad about this for a week or so.

Might I suggested editing the FAQ/Rules to include, no exploited games AND

  • Don't misrepresent giveaways. Don't put Humble Frozen Bundles up as Frozenbyte Collections, Don't put up Dark Messiah MP only as Dark Messiah Full SP/MP, Don't put up game packs if you aren't giving the Full Game Pack (aaaaa/what a wonderful world)

At this point, you should probably just permanently ban the people who are doing it and the people who invited them. I've noticed they're mainly Russians with less than a week's worth of account time who probably aren't going to give the gifts out at all.

You shouldn't ban those who invited people who broke the rules. There is a lot of people who gives those keys away, they don't deserve to be punished by that.

While they shouldn't be punished for giving keys away, as they did potentially spend 50 points generating codes, the overall tone and atmosphere of the site is gifting for gifting's sake. If they're just inviting people to cash-in on the giving atmosphere, then I don't think they necessarily belong; it's also part of why invite codes are being sold or traded. I've only invited people who I know will eventually provide giveaways; some of them want to win something first, but I suppose I can't blame them.

One of the main rules is "Please make sure the people YOU invite follow these rules".

Since the vast majority of these members are, I suspect, invited by THEMSELVES to have "accounts spare", this shit is just downright wrong.

Whats wrong with you RF? For some days already you are flaming other members constantly.
"They used our super special B12G invitecode, omg ban them!"
"They put up games and want some extra points, ban those russian tripple Accounts who stole our code anyway!"

Im sorry, but thats the impression you leave to me and I don't really like it :-/
Points aint that important. They are here in the first place so People don't enter every Single giveaway. They do their Job, +- 5 points doesnt really matter.

Edit: I bet if you would have been here the days BlueLegion was dominating this site you would be still rageing :D

So, right. I shouldn't be suggesting that rules be enforced and I shouldn't be angry that people have been dicks? I should just veg out and go, "lol, dudes, walk all over me, it's k"?

The site I come from has a metric shit tonne of players still missing out on steamgifts because of the Facepunch dicks ( just see how many invite codes our members have made: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=88228.120 ), so yeah. I'm allowed to be angry.

Man, you really need to chill. It's been said that most of that code's activations did go to B12 members, and anyone who didn't get in is pretty much instantly being invited by another member upon request.

RF is right. Being so stupidly chill about it is what's making them abuse the rules. Strict means strict, and rules are to be followed. No pussy-pants "let them do whatever they want and be numb heads about it". About the Facepunch dicks, yeah some are (not all obviously) and stained the name of the website, mainly because they don't have the community spirit of knowing that this site is made of pure kindness by the gifters; if you don't win nothing in 1/2/3 months, it's just bad luck but you should keep supporting it. Selling invites / trying to grab some games off illicit shenanigans, is just downright wrong.

You people confuse rage with being rightfully upset way too often. Open your eyes and stop being so hiveminded.

And you're confusing calmness with ignorance. A situation can be very well-handled when one is calm, just like a situation can be royally screwed up when one is upset. Granted, the inverse of each is also true.

Maybe it's ignorance as you say, but it leads to the same conclusion. Anyway, I accept your point of view.

It wasn't so bad when it was just then putting up the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle etc. That could be an acceptable error. (Although I'm about 99% certain that all they did was send the winners a link to the Bundle page.)

But when they're putting it up as the Frozenbyte Collection in order to gain points and willfully misrepresenting it, that's when it's an issue. They're doing it on purpose in an attempt to exploit a hole in the site and that's when you start to ban.

I recall a a complaint or two about some HIB winners getting links to "used up" humble pages.
