What actually may have happened was: you was depressed by something or somethings else, that were minor in your brain, hence you wasn't sad, but you were taught since you were little that death is super sad, so his death functioned as a trigger to depression, considering those minor feelings.

So, I woke up this morning to learn that someone I knew (They are part of the family) since I was little had died. Now, I never got along with them after I turned 15 but some reason it actually made me depressed (Even more depressed then when my grandfather died), so R.I.P.
