Quick question. Anyone know if buying DLC for a F2P game on the steam store counts toward that "$9 per card drop" requirement?

I tried with the Gotham City Impostors DLC I got from the Humble Bundle, no card drops. I think you have to actually spend money from your Steam Wallet

Just curious, could you check your badge progression page and tell me if the amount is still at $0?

Yeah I ran the game once and then checked, still at 0

+1, it only gives cards when you spend money directly on Steam.DLC's count as purchase too.

Hmm, I wonder if you have to spend actual cash too. I know I have about $20 in my Nexon account (Mabinogi) from years ago and like $40 in Warframe Platinum.

Sorry but I'm not sure about the answer to your question. If it helps, I had a Spiral Knights pack from the Steam store that I got in a SEGA pack that cost either $15 or $20 by itself and the game didn't allot me any drops when the cards released recently.

Yeah, I wish Valve was a bit more specific about card drops and F2P games.

Definitely. I've never gotten a F2P card game to drop anything so far besides 1 drop in Dota 2 which made sense as I had payed $10 for something in it in the past. Otherwise, who knows what actually makes them drop. >.<

Yeah, it's confusing. Also, I don't think it's necessary to spend $27 to be eligible for a booster pack. I just checked TF2, and I qualify even though I only spent about $13.

Doesn't count toward $9.

Some users said that buying a DLC counts toward the $9 ingame purchases - I advise you to read the game's forum, because for example Star Conflict handles this differently: clicky
meaning you only get money credited for cards if you really buy something ingame, the DLCs don't count.

TL;DR: check game's forum page
