I'm projecting it on a piece of paper using a pair of googles. The light has changed a lot, it feels strange.

Yeah right. I bet you're some old sage and you know how light used to be thousands of years ago, but now the sun is burning out, or being corrupt by evil vile alien stuff and it feels strange and you find it alarming and humanity will end soon if a hero doesn't rise to protect us!

If you don't have stuff to protect your eyes, and if you don't want to destroy your eyes, yes, that's how you watch an eclipse

You can still use a shoebox, or anything you can pierce a pinhole in.

pointing the camera at the sun looking at the display should work i think

Terrible idea. It's going to do to your sensor what it would do to your eyes it you looked at it directly.

really? so i need a special sun filter to take pics of the sun? i'm going to try out now. maybe RIP iphone :D hopefully finally ^^
Edit: works well, camera still works. took a few pics

Using a filter to protect is a good idea, yes.
...Unless you don't mind causing irreversible damage to your sensor, in which case you can simply make a few shots with very high speed and low aperture.

You're phone camera won't be affected the same way as your eye would... you can use it, look it up.

It's very cloudy here. Couldn't enjoy the eclipse. But the day got darker though.

About looking directly at an eclipse... how is this worse than just normally looking directly at the sun on a typical day? You don't see people all around warning against looking at the sun :-P.

i think the warnings refer to several minutes looking into the sun not just really quick. the same with the smartphones. it seems that short time is ok, but now i read that for longer it will affect the camera sensor like DavidSarif said

It's not worse, as far as I know. Just equally bad, and people will forget it's a very bad idea on such an occasion (and actually have an interest in looking), that's why you need to remind them that they should not do it.

Same, clouds during eclipse whose idea was that...

It would too cloudy to see it from where I was. :(

Same as many other people, couldn't see it because it's kinda cloudy here.
The sky got really dark and I though it was going to rain, but then I realized the eclipse was happening :)

Too cloudy D:
It just got a bit dark, no big deal. The birds got very confused though.

It's happening right now, so are you especially sitting/standing in front of your window to watch it, watching the livestream or you think big deal?
