again, the rule is for calling out STEAMGIFT users. Unless the rule is horribly written, as it says to report to support instead.. Hard for support to do anything if he's not a steamgift user.

What does that have to do with the first comment, or my comment? oO. Yes we know he's a scammer.

any steam member can use steamgifts.

100% of steamgift users use steam.
Under 0.005% of steam users use steamgifts. (300 million users in 2010)

So want to make a guess at the chance he is a steamgift user? Although considering the scammer doesn't meet the requirement to JOIN steamgifts, it's hard for him to be here.

Come on, think a little.

not if it is a personal gift payment.

They will freeze his account/assets if you make them aware of the scam.

First of all, I don't trade with people that have "Good trader! +rep" comments in their profiles as scammers have many of them put there by their scammer friends. Legit and seasoned traders won't do this because everyone knows they are easily faked. I'm always amazed by how many people are still fooled by this. The guy had no purchased games yet somehow has completed dozens of trades? Please, total scam.

Secondly, you shouldn't call out people in the forums.

Thirdly, you should check Steamrep first before trading with anyone. That guy is already listed as a suspicious trader, which if you followed the first rule (lots of +rep comments) you would already know.

Lastly, you should report the transaction and all your proof to Steamrep. You kept all your proof right?

But you have +200 games, that explains enough. How ever "+rep blablabla" is really stupid. I wouldn't like to have that on my profile. Maybe just "thanks for trading" or "thanks for the game".

Exactly. A legit trader that has been around long enough to know better won't collect those as they know they are the hallmark of a scammer. Scammers will ALWAYS have more of those comments than legit traders, and as such those comments immediately arouse suspicion.

lmao, not everyone with "good trader" comments on their profile are scammers dude.
Nearly everyone (or possibly everyone) I've traded with has comments like that on his profile.
Many people use to post these comments on a trader's profile after they've traded with him, that's just how it is..

Of course they are not all scammers, I didn't say that. Many casual and/or noob traders have those comments. What I did say however is that it's immediately suspicious because scammers always have more of them than legit traders. It's one of the signs of a scammer, not proof. Yup many people still do it, I agree with you on that. It's an easy mistake to make and it's bad form, but you live and learn.
