Green Man Gaming

Based on feedback elsewhere, there are a few codes that still work at GreenManGaming after most of the 20% off vouchers were deactivated at the end of the day yesterday:

  • 20SUM-MERSA-VINGS (20% off non-specials and preorders)
  • READY-UPDEA-ISLAN (20% off Dead Island only, on 9/9 it reduces to 15% off)
  • EATIN-BRAIN-ZZZZZ (15% off zombie-themed games)

Steamworks games will be listed on the GMG website as requiring Steam. If it doesn't say so in the game's description page, it doesn't use Steam.

Obviously, I would appreciate it if you use my referral link so that we both get $5 of bonus credit on your purchases: http://www.greenmangaming.com/?gmgr=koxelogo

Direct2Drive

I also found a couple of of 15% off codes for Direct2Drive. They likely work on only one item in your cart, so make it count, if you use em. Pretty good for stacking with preorder discounts or existing sale items, imo:

  • RETAIL15 (expires 9/6, courtesy of retailmenot.com)
  • TECHBARG15 (expires 9/6, courtesy of techbargains.com)
  • CHEAPASS15 (expires 9/16, courtesy of cheapassgamer.com)

Steamworks games are listed at D2D as requiring a 3rd party download.

20SUM-MERSA-VINGS and EATIN-BRAIN-ZZZZZ doesn't work anymore, tried it today on different games of varied categories. READY-UPDEA-ISLAN (20% off Dead Island only) is the only valid one.

This is false. I just checked 20SUM-MERSA-VINGS right now with the Batman: Arkham City preorder and it still works. Similarly, EATIN-BRAIN-ZZZZZ still works on the items for the 28 Days To Die For promotion.

The problem with Green Man Gaming coupons is that usually don't combine with any other offers except in specific cases that GMG allows. They themselves admitted that there are many exceptions to the coupon, so that might have been the problem (you wanted to buy something that was not eligible for a discount, even if it wasn't on sale otherwise). Iirc, this happened with the From Dust preorder too :(

Not really, well... not entirely. If you check List of Green Man Gaming games you can activate on Steam you'll see:
"Note: Discount codes may be reported as expired, however in certain instances they may still work for some users - try them out for yourself! You may get lucky."
I tried the codes on many different games before making that post, none worked.

It's quite possible, I will have to check this out. I have only been testing with the popular preorder titles.

Bump for adding a new D2D coupon to the original post:

RETAIL15 (expires 9/6, courtesy of retailmenot.com)

This is yet another 15% off (one item?) code for Direct2Drive. It expires on 9/6 just like the Tech Bargains one, so use it soon if you plan to buy anything from them.

An update for you all about code expiration dates:

READY-UPDEA-ISLAN which gives you 20% off Dead Island at GMG downgrades to 15% off on September 9th, which is the release date of the game. Source of this information is the site from where this code originated (http://ready-up.net).

The site also happens to be doing a giveaway of Dead Island (3 copies) for residents of the UK only:

You say you would appreciate if we would go trough your referral link, but the first link also leads to your referral link... Why pretend? That's low.

Don't use the links if you prefer, the information is/was good either way ;) There is no "pretending" going on unless I labeled the link as affiliate-free when it wasn't, and that is not the case.

Np, just spreading the info for those looking to buy (or buying for giveaways for a little less)! GMG did a pretty cool thing with their preorders. I hope their preorder program with the 15% + 20% off opportunities don't dry up with the transition from Summer to Fall. They mentioned on their official Facebook page that the current promotion was a summer thing for them, which implies that deals of this calibre won't necessarily be a recurring thing beyond summer.
