There's no rule for preventing this to happen

But I think there's no problem for it

Unless it's bullshit survey related

Why exactly did you make a second thread when you posted in the other thread about this very same topic?

I really don't see the problem. if people spend money to give away games FOR FREE TO YOU why wouldn't they be allowed to advertise themselves a bit? Imo that's just fair.

Two weeks ago... "We have to read the descriptions!"

Now... "Just ignore the descriptions!"

If this was a fileice clone giveaway of mine, I should be banned too. It was my idea to try this social experiment, obviously my thread got deleted. But I do feel that if they post it as a public giveaway and then link their optional private giveaway in the description, it should be allowed aslong as they provide the games they're advertising.

I have no problem with some additional requirements, but that site bears two problems:

  1. It's not available for everyone, I for example didn't get a single survey option and
  2. from what I've heard, there are some surveys that send stuff to your mobile phone and you get charged money.

Especially the second point makes me think, that stuff like this shouldn't be allowed.

Well then all that needs to be said in the description is (The Giveaway is not available for some people due to the surveys, also do not do surveys that cost money or make you download something)

The fact that only a select few people get clean surveys makes it even more of a private giveaway imo.

Sorry, but I think that "surveys" that charge you money are shady(and lets face it, not everbody reads those descriptions and some might not even fully understand them) and every site that that links to such surveys can be viewed as shady as well and shouldn't be linked to, from this site, doesn't matter, if it is a public or private giveaway or a forum post.

I think you could add additional links to your giveaway, like sharecash. This way people who can't get a survey on fileice can try another service. And if someone wants to contribute more, can download the file from all services.
I want to try something like this (if you don't mind me using your idea), but on a closed forum to see the reaction there.
It is a great way to create awesome giveaways imho, it just needs some fine-tuning.

Have a sponsored giveaways option. If people are going to make money off of it at least put it out there where everyone can see it.

Have them pay a dollar or something (or more) for their "ad" space (giveaway)

Highlight the thing on the open giveaways list so people know there is a quid pro quo if it is called a "public" giveaway

If you give spammers and shady sites a refuge where they can link ad nauseum the will come in droves.
