How does the giveaway function works?

Hi. I registered in Steam Gifts a few days ago, so I have no idea about how it works, except for entering giveaways, heh. Say, I want to give away a game I already installed, like CoD: MW3 (which I totally regret installing). Can I do it? Or can I only give away a key? Can I even give away a game from my Steam library? I guess I can't. If there's already a post like this, please, redirect me to it, as I don't want to be another pain in the butt. Thanks in advance :D And sorry for my orthographical(?) mistakes, if any. :D

Check out the FAQ. Basically, you can't giveaway games from your library. Only keys/Humble Bundle gift URLS or gift in your inventory.

the rules and how the site works should be in a headline at the top of the site easy to find. having it in the forums exclusively is kinda odd. a lot of people just dont do forums so it would be nice to have just a link at the top menu bar that says FAQ or Rules in plain sight without having to do any searching for it. i know its right at the top of the forums but like i said a lot of people just dont do forums even if i or tons of other people do.
