DDO is showing its age. Neverwinter combat is a lot more fluid, but a lot more restrictive. DDO feels a lot more like Pen and paper DnD, and a lot more like the previous Neverwinter games, while Neverwinter feels like any other Arpg with DnD lore.
That said, I had my fun with DDO, and am currently having fun with Neverwinter, Though I don't think it will hold my interest past level cap (which no MMORPG I have played has managed so far).
If your willing to Break away from High Fantasy, Fallen Earth Was pretty fun.

Neverwinter has been pretty fun so far, much improved over DDO.

I used to play DDO F2P a fair bit, and I've tried the Beta for Neverwinter.
I'm not sure if I can explain it, but I didn't like the combat in Neverwinter; whatever they were trying to do, it didn't work for me.
If I 'had' to play one, I'd go back to DDO. If you're just looking for an MMO, may I suggest Rift? It's not F2P but you can try it for free; and there are a bunch of free copies floating around from pre-orders of their other game.

nw sits well with me, theres still some minor bugs and you need to get used to some things as well, of course being open beta still may change a bit but not drastically as they pointed out, being f2p as well does not hurt as you can go by not buying anything, though may i suggest to buy a mount it saves so much time running around. kudos

You can jump...maybe not the best quality hd gameplay vid, but here is Kripp's First Impression

New games tend to be better. The older game probably has aging mechanics.

Done both, and I am an avid D&D player. While neither capture D&D like Neverwinter Nights or Baldur's Gate did, I say that Neverwinter is a much stronger game. Though, I have issues with DDO and the way it forces you to pay for parts of the game eventually. Neverwinter has zero locked content. You can pay for extras, and the extras are nice. But you don't HAVE to like you are strong armed into with DDO.

DDO is much more satisfying from a customization and gameplay perspective, at least to me, but I'm a Devoted Cleric in Neverwinter, and I hate being rooted in place (all of the DC's attacks) and an warforged art in DDO so I'm relatively OP and can solo as an arcane ranged combatant... so perhaps I just love the fact that I can exploit DDO like I can exploit D&D... Neverwinter gets rid of most of the dice, though, and DDO is far too simple for a proper D&D game (with the diplomatic skills being so rarely used that the two times they are, unless you've got a utility bard, have fun failing your skill check and ending up playing the segment as a hack and slash anyway).

Same basic mmo grind as every other mmo.
As a D&D player, I hate the stuff. Better go play NWN or Temple of Elemental Evil.

Neverwinter is the best game I have played in a long time, so addicting.

Both games are Dungeons and Dragons games, but should i go back to DDO (which i did not really get into) or start new with Neverwinter?
