Except medium is to easy because as you said you beat the game only using the wrench. Depending on the game I might select medium difficulty but I usually will select the most difficult.

well it wasnt to easy the first couple levels, but then you get those static shock upgrades so when ppl hit u the ytake shock damage... that ended up making anyone that melee'd me basicly killed themselves... then the wrench damage upgrades made you basicly one hit everything, i feel even on hard this game would have been easy
anyways back on topic, is this "drill" in bs2 pretty much the same?

Basically except it has a basic swing hit, and a drilling function which consumes fuel. It can get elemental effects too.

It's hard. You'll die. I died 3 times on the first battle. Was new. All you need are 2 upgraded weapons with full ammo and upgraded Devil's Kiss. Throw Devil's Kiss as a trap so it instantly kills all the resurrected minions. DPS the siren down. Don't waste time on minions, hence the DK.
Finishing 1999 mode atm. It's really not all that much harder than hard mode.

I've beaten the original on 360 on Easy. :D
And later I went back to Brassballs it (Hard, no Regen). That was damn fun.
But unless I enjoy the game enough to replay, I play on Easy, to go through the backlog faster.

I did a Wrench Jockey (no guns) hard-mode run last time I played Bioshock 1 :)
Using the right tonics, and with good plasmid/hacking use it's a ton of fun to play it that way!

Nowaday games are just too easy on every difficulty :(. It is set from developers to this easy difficulty to get new buyers. So everyone can beat this game , even casual gamers. I remember a time (it was around 10 years ago) when games were much more difficult and made for the real gamers not for every noob :)

Well you kinda handicapped yourself of fun if you ask me...it sounds like you complain about the lack of using a gun even though you could have used one throughout the game, I dont get it.

Ah ok, it sounded like you didn't I guess, if thats the case the drill should be fun for you.

why dont you play the game first? seriously if though it was that easy then play in a more higher difficulty to enjoy it, 2 hitting everything with a melee weapon sounds boring to me, also it sounds like you complely hate guns in games (which is weird considering you want to play a fps)

The drill is Bioshock 2 is similar to the wrench.

There were way easier ways to kill them.
Like that weapon that creates an electric tether between two points (its been a while)that takes out most of their health. Lay a couple of those down and then shoot your weakest anything at him and down goes bubbles.

I find this hard to believe. I myself have been playing Bioshock for the past week (on easy so that I can concentrate on exploring rather than combat, I'll be replaying it on hard) but I was often required to use plasmids and weapons besides the wrench, especially with Spiders, Houdinis and Nitros. I even used trap bolts and grenades later on in the game to take on an Elite Bouncer, so I don't see how it's possible that you could've beaten the Big Daddies (I've beaten more than ten and saved about nine Little Sisters) with just a wrench. Unless of course...you did a speed run through the game, avoiding combat as much as possible and not engaging in any battles with the Big Daddies.
Yes, I agree that there is one point in the game where you can take out all the Splicers with one swing of the wrench. But later on, it took me a few shots to take down a Thuggish Splicer even though I'd equipped multiple combat tonics including: stealth wrench, extra damage from wrench, freeze enemies with wrench and electric shock when attacked (sorry, I don't remember the tonic names :P).
Even if you did somehow manage beat Big Daddies with just the wrench, even if you think you've explored the game fully and have experienced all that there is to experience, you're still depriving yourself of the satisfaction of setting up elaborate traps and taking down enemies in the coolest way possible, which is an integral part of Bioshock.

i just beat the first for the first time, on medium difficulty... never once used a gun or plasmids and never died once, i used wrench the whole game because i found it to be easier and more effective then guns /plasmids. since almost no enemys even used guns and when they did they hardly did damage...
is bioshock 2 able to play with just wrench as well? or is it more gun oriented ????????
in first i basicly two hitted everything, even the final boss was easy with wrench which shocked me....i was thinking i would finally end up using a gun just to beat him but i was wrong
