the game is going to be free to play on steam and completely removed from battlenet , if you do not link your account before october the 1st you will have to start from scratch in the new f2p version on steam . the current preorder on steam is for the upcoming expansion and not the game itself

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh i see , i didnt know it will be f2p and i never played it so i dont have any saves ;p but do people who did buy the game get something deferent ?!!!

they will be in a gear and stat headstart advantage since all their items gets carried with them and the game as a whole will benifit from bigger playerbase , though it alrady have a big playerbase on pc and the game is very populated so that will be a 1+

That key activated on Battle.net. If you activated it, just follow the instructions above to link your accounts and ensure that everything you had wil move over to Steam.

But from what I understood humble key is just base game. And base game is going to be free so it literally only shows that it transfers 0 silver if you havent played.

Yeah. I'm not sure if the key gave anything extra. I still transfered my account for good measure, even though I haven't actually played the game yet.
The list of transfered items is:
This could very well be what very new player will get from the F2P game.

Wierd, I just got Silver - 0 :)
No license, no warlock.

Decided to install the game and create a character to see if anything changed and it did :)
Now I have:
Titan Human Male - 100
Destiny 2 License
Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris License
Destiny 2: Warmind License
Silver - 0

I reinstalled the game and logged back in. The Curse of Osiris and Warmind licenses also got added to the list.

It's a shame really. When Destiny 2 was the humble monthly focus, I was a litlte surprised. And then once I realised there was an expansion coming out that pretty much overhauled the games mechanics and rendered the base game version essentially obsolete by comparison, I was suddenly very... not surprised.
Still, I'll transfer it across just in case.
Thanks for the heads up!

If I own the base game and first two expansions, is there a way to buy Forsaken and it’s expansion? I don’t see Forsaken available by itself and don’t really want to rebuy the base game and first season pass.

The base game and expansion pass 1 are going to be free to play (renamed to New Light edition) once the game comes to Steam.

I have the base version of D2 on Battle.net and Shadowkeep Deluxe on XB1. If I link my Xbox account rather than the Battle.net one, do I get the DLC too?
Comment has been collapsed.
It seems like new Destiny 2 which will be on Steam is actually free and will have all the Battlenet DLCs
They wii release a new DLC on Steam.
So I think you don't have to worry too much about DLC.
This process is mostly about migrating your character and some earned points..

You have until October to link your blizzard.net and steam accounts in the official Bungie site. You will get all the content you have in D2 already including all your progress, characters, ingame currency, dlc's, anual pass, etc.
