Will you leave Twitter?
As someone who never used Twitter I'm just having fun looking at the dumpster fire, I imagine it must suck for the people that actually used it tho, now they have to find an alternative asap.
I must admit that watching one of the richest people in the world fuck up so hard that they're destroying a company in about a month is hilarious, Musk might end up in the history books for this mess instead of all the other things he did to try to get there.

It's fine. It's just optics. Fundamentally, everything that's happening now -- specifically terminating staff -- is par for the course in a major acquisition. The only difference is that Musk is kicking people out the door rather than showing them the way out. Chaotic for sure, and less humane than how most companies would handle it, but Musk is not known for being patient or kind.

Never used it, but I know many services rely on it as a way to communicate with the outside world. Like London transport will push notifications through twitter about service problems.
I want to sign up for external course for work, but how they will announce registration is open? Twitter! Meh. No place to sign up for an email notification list, so I need to have a web page open to see the announcement there.
It will be hard on the internet if Twitter goes under, as over the years so many services started to depend on it. But they will eventually find a way to move forward, just like people found a way to move from always-in-office to work-from-home in basically an instant when COVID hit. Seeing the current landscape, it will be some Chinese service, where owners must by law share all user info with the government. So I will pass on it.
For me, social media as we know it could die. As all it does it finding ways to steal our time and focus, in order to make billions on the advertisements. It's already quite well documented that rise of social media is one of the biggest cause of our attention problems, rise of anxiety and depression problems.

Facebook HQ On Lockdown After Mark Zuckerberg’s Avatar Breaks Out Of Metaverse

I check Twitter from time to time mostly for games in development, It's easy and fast to find cool projects compared to Steam, and you have the opportunity to know who are the developers, background, and also get involved on alpha or beta testing sometimes. It is a great platform for products and services but In my opinión It should stay away of politics, just look at the dumpster fire It has become (once again) now that Trump's account is active, left and right wing makes this platform a cesspool, that's just my opinion, I won't get into an useless discussion about this just as It happens there.
Also, my Twitter account was "hacked" by a guy in Turkey just for promoting NFTs, the account got suspended for "spam". I sent an appeal and all good, the auto message said It was a mistake, but 2 weeks later I get a permanent suspension without an specific reason LOL! The account had nothing shady until that "turkish" guy used It for those dumb NFTs and despite I wrote this to the Twitter staff they didn't care to do a quick background check, so no wonder Elon Musk fired so many people, bots are doing the work there and If you get caught between "spam" by mistake you're going bye bye, no matter how many years you have that account.
Anyway, I can still check game development work, but It sucks not being able to ask or comment to devs.
The guy will manage to get the platform back on track, too bad there's so much toxicity there. SG is heaven compared to Twitter.
Holy Crap! now that's a wall of text.

Mastodon's official Twitter account has been frozen.
And it appears that links to Mastodon have been identified as harmful links.
It appears that Twitter's freedom of speech has been bought.🙄

Okay thanks, i might have linked a facebook thing once or twice, so was worried slightly.
Today some dutch comedian was attacking people, i defended the victim and the comedian spoke about how we were all anonymous, i couldn't find my pic on twitter so i just posted my facebook profile to show him, that i wasn't.
The journalist part is still true though that they were banned, Musk wanted more "freedom of speech" but he also kinda kills it.
A bunch reported someone that posted dutch politicians with hitler clothing/moustache and it was deemed okay by twitter, so..

Elon... I mean 'the Twitter team' 'unbanned' meaning that the 'offensive' posts have to be removed or else those journalists. It's pretty much flailing and trying to keep a grimace... face by Elon... the twits by now. What a shitshow.

Elon Musk says he'll quit if poll tells him to, as Twitter reverses ban on accounts that promote other social networks - MarketWatch

Within half a day, it seemed that Twitter was proving to be the tower of Babel.
Now it seems to have been retracted.... What happens next remains uncertain.🤔

🙄Well, people's wanting for what they don't have may be the gateway to creating hell.
One has to pay attention, for example, to what kind of people will be "someone who can buy Twitter on the cheap" after he quits.
As long as Twitter is dependent on administrators and "cannot sustain itself without income," this may be a recurring theme.
Anonymity and a means of communication and exchange that is not heavily dependent on income or management may be the Holy Grail we need in this age.
(and other social networking sites will develop).

I assume that one of these days the translation tools on the planet will start calling bullshit.
This is a problem because offline translation tools with high accuracy are limited in some languages.😂
Multiplexing of information sources seems necessary.📡🤔🔭 🌏

"According to new reporting from Platformer, Twitter has temporarily closed all of its offices, and employee badge access has been suspended. As of this writing, details are slim, but Platformer managing editor Zoe Schiffer says that sources claim CEO Elon Musk is "terrified employees are going to sabotage the company." Offices will apparently re-open on November 21st. The reporting comes after Musk gave employees a deadline to join his "extremely hardcore Twitter 2.0." According to The Verge's Alex Heath, many employees have turned down Musk's offer to stay, and those remaining fear that the odds of the website permanently going offline are very good.
It's only been a few weeks since Elon Musk took over Twitter, but the website's future has seemed grim ever since. Musk spent $44 billion on the company, and promised to make massive changes to the platform. However, all of Musk's proposed changes have faced major pushback from users. The Twitter CEO started things off by making a controversial change to the platform's verified users, giving blue checkmarks to any user willing to spend $8/month, and promising to remove verification for users that wouldn't spend the money. As a result, famous users like Stephen King balked at the change. In protest, verified users began to impersonate prominent brands on Twitter, and the chaos convinced some advertisers to leave the platform.
Musk has also been publicly fighting with Twitter employees, and even fired some by Tweet. The Twitter CEO fired a large number of employees right from the start, and reports indicate that the company was forced to ask some of those employees to return after their termination. All of these issues show a platform in complete disarray, and incapable of keeping vitally important employees.
It's difficult to say whether Twitter will be able to weather this storm, or if the company will be able to keep the lights on. Musk's attempts to recoup his money while changing Twitter's culture are clearly not going well, and it remains to be seen how things will go from here.
