This site is enticing me with what appears to be Mafia 2 director's cut for the low price of 11.99. My suspicions were raised when i noticed that this same game is no longer available for sale on steam. What up with that? Discuss.

Mafia II is removed from Steam. The only sites that you can buy it at is GtwoA, and Queenin, and some other "not-legit" sites, because GMG had a bundle just before it got removed from Steam. Btw, do not buy Director's Cut, buy the Complete Pack. Enjoy the game!

It doesnt really matter . There was M2 Director's Cut in Humble Bundle and it came with all dlc's ( maybe beside 1 dlc from consol edition)

Because you're replying for a 7 month old comment that was done way before Mafia II even came back to steam :)

It's a grey market site. They get their keys through alternative means, be it boxed copies, lower price regions, or just copies bought when games have been on steep discounts. The thing about grey market sites is that you never know where the key is from. Most of the time there won't be anything shady going on, but there have been many cases where stolen credit cards have been used to buy those keys that then get sold through grey market sites. There was recently a case where a lot of keys for Sunrider academy got recalled.

Just to be clear, grey market sites are not inherently illegal, but as a buyer, you never quite know what you'll actually end up getting.

Currently using it for Drop Keys - no problems so far. Trade is working as well. All used keys worked just fine. I haven't bought anything yet so no advice on that one.

Regarding Mafia, the contract with Steam ended a while ago, which is the reason it can't be bought anymore. The key itself should work fine, since it was generated when it was legit. You will be able to download and play it.

You might take a look at mmoga. Bought a few games there, since some aren't listed in my region. No problems there.

Thank you all for taking your time to provide me answers. They were very helpful and while there isn't a definitive NO, i erred on the side of caution and on the advice of Bentosan, decided to check out mmoga.com. The fact that they deal with Canadian currency appealed to me and the price seemed right, so i went for the directors cut of Mafia 2. I promptly received both keys, which were valid and aside from a false positive from my McAfee virus scanner have had a positive experience. Thanks again to all of you. It's good to know there are people out there that are helpful and supportive.

Indeed. However, perhaps this is better than duplicate threads.

as far as i know it's owned by the same company as G2A
so I'd say it's even less trustworthy
