I doubt it mein frond, I have a physical copy that isn't steam redeemable. I would say maybe buy a different game because in my opinion the internet hyped this up and it really isn't that good =[ but that's just my opinion. Metro 2033 is a very good alternative to this albeit far too linear.

ctrl+f for Steam gives us this exceprt from a review:

So I'd say probably not, assuming that guy isn't off his rocker

Actually, I wouldn't recommend getting the steam version. Because if you want to play online, you have to manually install the beta patch which steam doesn't download.. And I hate messing with steam like that :P

This isn't a good game for Steam, as Steam offer latest version only and thus you can't install a lot of mods which requires the previous version.

STALKER SoC is not a steamworks game so you will not be able to find any offer that activates on Steam. If you want it on Steam you have to buy it on Steam.

Who gives a care in hell if it's on steam or not, it's a brilliant game.

Great game, you should also get some mods for it as they make it 10 times better. And also Call of Pripyat.

I don't even need to check the link. If you're not buying it directly from Steam, it's NOT a steam version.
