After being informed of this thread, I started to wonder if I should purchase print or digital copies of comics I want to read.

I've been a big fan of comics for a long time now, when I was little my dad would buy comics weekly. He actually has an incredible comic collection lying in the basement. As I got older though, he stopped purchasing comics and I kind of stopped reading them. But now that I saw that thread, it kind of reignited my passion for comics.

So I would like to know what you guys think, print or digital? Perhaps you guys can enlighten me with some pros and cons.

Thanks, all answers appreciated!

tl;dr Which do you prefer; Print comics or Digital comics? Why?

Books without physical form feel lifeless, I just can't get into it if I'm just staring a computer monitor or phone.

Kindle is an ebook with e-ink, and no backlight. Google it up.

My mind say digital but my heart says print. It just doesnt seem right reading books digitally. games and stuff are fine digital but that is because having them in a physical or digital version still gives you the same experince, same with music. But books and comics are a whole different topic.
The physical nature of books adds so much more and that is why in the end i always go physical

Depends if you like collecting stuff, I guess. It's definitely easier to get your hands on sought-after comics digitally, of course. I bought a series of comics I'd been wanting to read for ages off an iPhone comics app and paid about a third of what I was going to pay to get the physical ones off eBay. I didn't really care about having them, I just wanted to read them. I guess it also depends how you want to read them, I personally don't really like reading stuff off a computer screen but I like the experience on my phone. I also recently bought an iPad which is nice for that too. If you're going to read off a device like a phone or tablet, try a few different apps to find one you like. Some can be a pain in the butt to turn pages, or if you buy comics from an app like I did, the special format lets the viewer move around the page and display it panel by panel as you read, which is neat.

I will say print version. Same with books for me, I sometimes buy them just to have it, for collecting purposes, even though I've already read them elsewhere. Reading a print version while lying on your bed just like you prob did when you were a little kid is nostalgic and can make it a magical experience. It's true it will be easier and even cheaper to get them digitally, but still, you asked for opinions. :3

I'm still a print sort of person. It is nice to be able to tear myself away from backlit screens for a while. A part of the reason too is just pure nostalgia. There is also the option to be able to sell the comics in the future/if you can't get into them.
Also, ever so slightly off topic, Y the Last Man is a great series!

Why the hell everyone think in their phones when you ask about digital books or comics?
You can read digital comics in a 50$ Chinese tablet, they have 10 inches and they're much better for that purpose than your smartphones!!!

PS: I used to prefer printed books (I'm an avid reader), but when I was given, 3 years ago, a second handed Kindle 2 I changed up my mind. Now I have a Kindle 4 that I carry with me almost everywhere.

I already can't have my own frakkin' videogames (i can just "purchase a license to play them as long as someone else decides he'll let me"), i'm NOT giving up on my comics collection. Ever.
