So, I'm going to build a new gaming computer soon. And of course, I need to go through the crap of transferring all kinds of files again. After thinking for moment I realized that I don't know what happens if I simply transfer Steams folder. So question is, is there anything specific in transferring both Steam and games there? I wouldn't like to download Skyrim and those 50+ mods again... Any advice?

Thank you for answers.

It works perfectly. Trust me. I'm what you'd call, a 'professional.'

How much do you spend?

Not OP, but you can build one that can play Battlefield 3 on Ultra at 45 fps for like $650, maybe.

Here's a good guide for the money: http://s1002.photobucket.com/albums/af150/The_FalconO6/CurrentLogicalPCBuyingGuide/?action=view&current=Guide.png

Around 1000 euros, can go little over if it's needed. Just wouldn't like to spend totally all cash to it :P

It's pretty much just drag-and-drop once you've set Steam up on the new PC. I'm pretty sure they even give helpful tips about how to do it if you check the steam FAQs.
