"You, Ravel. As you changed my nature forever."

That's what I picked, originally, but I couldn't exactly tell you why at the time. No answered seemed right.

Man, I took me so long to do that final conversation in Torment; I just couldn't pick between the options. So well written, if only there were more games like that.

It took me something like ten minutes to answer that question, mostly because the answer I would have given was not one of the choices.

P.S.(Blueaquapearl50 is correct. Choice/Free-will is the only thing that can change the nature of a man.)

Truth: Choice/Will
A man can choose his own nature. There will always be environments that can shape a person one way or another.
But it is up to each individual to choose how they will live with their circumstances.

For example:
Some people are born with the insensitivity or inability to feel empathy (people with anti-social personality disorders or psychopaths, in other words). Some choose to give in to whatever impulses they have, becoming completely self-driven and sometimes even murderous. But there are others who choose to go against the 'nature' of the brain they were born with and push themselves to consider other people and try to connect with others. Sometimes they'll even go through years of therapy to 'learn empathy' and form healthy bonds and relationships.

That's a sort of extreme example but it goes to show that people can choose to change their nature, even if they are born with it or it is more difficult to change or it feels 'unnatural'. It takes a lot of work, sacrifice, and effort. But it all starts with a choice and then the will to follow through.

To me the answer is: "Himself".
If he wants to change, it will happen. For good or for bad, he will have a choice. Even not changing will be a choice.

Too much Philosophy.

Meh, you don't have control over everything, genetic disorders for example. Imagine telling a color-blind dude to "try harder" to see the colors x)

That's a condition imposed on his body, not his "nature".
And yep, even if we can't control everything, at least we have to try. ;]

Anything. If a man man is calmly and confidently walking down the street and he sees a wasp he could change into a crazy man running down the street waving his arms around with no regard for his own or others safety. Feel free to add your own anything examples, the more random the better.

Wasn't "anything" one of the available choices in the game? I don't remember what I actually answered to Ravel but I probably picked something like that, since I couldn't answer what I actually thought (that the whole concept of "nature" is flawed to begin with).

I should replay the game to make sure but IIRC none of the characters pointed that the sentence itself only makes sense from some kind of neo-platonician perspective, and there are like a million alternate philosophies to that in Sigil :x

These are the Things that Make a Man

Iron enough to make a nail,
Lime enough to paint a wall,
Water enough to drown a dog,
Sulphur enough to stop the fleas,
Potash enough to wash a shirt,
Gold enough to buy a bean,
Silver enough to coat a pin,
Lead enough to ballast a bird,
Phosphor enough to light the town,
Poison enough to kill a cow,

Strength enough to build a home,
Time enough to hold a child,
Love enough to break a heart.

All of these things are within the nature of man. Saying any of these changes the nature of man is like saying changing out your fish changes the nature of a fish tank.

[purposely ignorant of this poll's reference and doesn't care]

I think Ravel answered to love that man loves himself too much to change bc of love. I might be misremembering though.
