I second ConvertXtoDVD. Though it may need some tinkering to make it the best quality

+1 for ConvertX, it's awesome. If you Google, you'll find a site that has, arguably, the best settings to use for higher quality encodes

I've already used ConvertXtoDVD, DVDFab and Xilisoft Video Converter; All paid, but work quite well and do everything for you. After all, DVD authoring can be quite... complex.
Off all of those, ConvertXtoDVD was totally the simpler one. Add the input, click 'start' and you are pretty much done.

It's been a while since I made any DVDs but this was always my go to site. You can find/learn anything you'll ever need here.

The video is currently in AVI format, and I believe it needs to be converted to MPEG-2 before it's burned onto a DVD-R disk.
Anyone know a good program which'll do the conversion and burning in one go? Any advice for burning? I haven't done it before, I'm a USB kinda guy. I know you should burn it at 1x speed to reduce the chance of write errors, and verify it after, but not much else.
Added bonus if the program is free, but otherwise I'm sure the school will pay for it
Thanks, and sorry for no giveaway this time, money isn't being very kind to me at the moment xD
Note: this is not for burning pirated films onto DVDs, this is for burning the video of a school play which I've been charged with since no-one else in the school seems to know how to use a computer.
